First heard Poe when I was in HS, one of my friends heard 'Trigger Happy Jack"'s chorus and played it for me saying that it reminded him of me. I listened to the song and descided that either he hadn't listened to the whole song, or I needed to shoot him. I owned the album w/in weeks. Haunted was a bit of a surprise, as I was fresh out of Basic Combat training and on my first weekend off of AIT when I saw the new album. I think that album helped me keep my sanity through the next 10 months of training :) I listen to all sorts of bizzare stuff from Mozart to Mr Bungle, From Bach to the Beatles. And last, I'm in the Indiana National guard, I'm into Kenpo Karate, paintball, and pyrotechnics. --L _______________________________________________________ http://inbox.excite.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 10:33:32 EDT From: LiveThruThisVow@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR The new Garbage website is up... I listened non-stop but lost the Internet feed for about 25 minutes around 5:30. I had called him once in between and he said that he found the CD and was going to play it ( in the next 10 songs). I called back after I got the feed back and his engineer said that he had just played it! He said that if I called back after 7PM that Jay Michaels would be able to play it again. (It was not in the log at buzzhits.com) So I did. Jay said he was a big fan of Poe and listened to Haunted at home He said that Wild was one of his favorite cuts, but he had not heard the Radio version yet. He heard they had it and would play it if they could find it. I listened till 11:25 PM, he did not. The DJ this morning said that he was a Poe fan and was waiting to get it, that he would play it as soon as it came in. I know that does not answer your confusion anymore then it does mine! I will call the Program Director in the morning and find out what is up. I am encouraged that three of the DJs mentioned they are Poe fans and two mentioned the Haunted CD by name. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 22:01:46 +0000 (GMT) From: Cyberfan Corporation Subject: GRAVITY GAMES... To make an impact with the decision makers we need stations in MAJOR markets, ones that have a lot of listeners. Don't rule anybody out! As of last week only eight radio stations in the United States were reporting to the trades they were playing Poe's Wild. There are two important numbers that tell how a song is doing. How many spins/plays and how many stations are playing the song. KZON and WTMX could play the song 40 times a day EACH and if other stations don't pick up the song it will not be considered a success. STAR98.7 in Los Angeles would be HUGE! I will check on KIIS and talk to their program director, see where his head is at. Is KIIS one of the big Boston stations? One of the Psychos was able to get it added in Vancouver BC, that is BIG!!! That is the home city for Poe's management group. WE were able to get it added where others have been unsuccessful. Last week the push was on WTMX and KZON. KEEP PUSHING with them, WTMX is playing Wild 6-7 times a day the last two days!! This week, while we keep working these two I would like to know which stations are playing her where YOU live! We all need to work these stations, this is where I will be counting on the regional coordinators to organize regional request and listening campaigns. We are keeping up our end of the bargain, let's REALLY pour it on now!!! Wed will mark the end of week one and at this point brendles and patrick are will on their way to being two of the first three winners, but there are three days to go! The third place is a four way tie. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Sep 2001 19:52:36 -0400 From: Ed Hunsinger Subject: RE: GRAVITY GAMES... My name is Elizabeth and I am 17. I live in Seattle. A good friend of mine introduced me to Poe's Haunted a couple of months ago. We were working on compiling some of my journal entries, poetry and a few of her poems to form a book. We chose Poe's work as background mood music, seeing as how our book is about my experience with self-mutilation. (We hope to publish the book and send it to rehab centers and hospitals. Our goal is help people understand self-mutilation(specifically cutting) on a more personal level.) I blare Haunted in my car. I am a bit of a speed demon and cannot help but feel free while I listen to her work. She has so much attitude and the lyrics are amazing. I think with my finishing the book, Entitled 22, and listening to Poe's work I have started to let go of...well, it doesn't really matter. But I have opened up more in my art. Thank you Poe.
