This is the information we need to go to work, I was supposed to get the info Monday. Dean and I posted the Hey Pretty Excel list . It was posted on Polishchick and it will be posted on the new site when Jarrod and the group working on it unveil it when Poe is able to meet with us in chat or at the DVD shoot. If you want this information to be effective ,Angie, you have got to share it with us so we can target the stations that will move the single. You are right, we ARE seasoned professionals at this and you watch and see what happens NOW! The 900 station list was silly and if we can't get good info from one source we will get it from another. Hopefully as our new point person you will be as open with it as Paul Fishkin, Dean and I were during they Hey Pretty campaign. We APs have been waiting for direction and now we are waiting no more...it is time to go to work!!! Watch the charts now! Together we will move this thing on up. We will show them once AGAIN that we APs can do AMAZING stuff when we have the right direction. Thank you for your help in this Angie! As always let us know what you want and we are yours to assist. Please don't be offended if we don't just sit and wait anymore though. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2001 02:55:34 EDT From: Dan98908@aol.com Subject: Re: Thank you "I'm In" In a message dated 9/22/2001 11:36:46 PM Pacific Daylight Time, angie@momentumworldwire.com writes: > > All the "I'M IN" messages that came in are very much appreciated. Please take my word as gold gold gold. If there is a decision to focus on anything else, you'll know. It's a numbers game, Wild is our target. You may like other songs of course, but it helps the song 'stick' if it's not included in a list containing 3 requests (as an example). We want the word WILD, falling out of mouths. Condition their minds through repetition. WILD- DJ light goes PING "yeah, people keep requesting that song" Imagine that a DJ isn't familiar with her work, they'll remember her name, but not the song titles if you ask for a few. Then it turns into "yeah, that Poe chick. What does she sing again, there was Hey Pretty and...I forget the other 2" Then Wild may not get the play that it needs. TOTAL FOCUS. I have much work to do on several projects with an agenda that caters to Poe and moving her career forward. When I work I dive in head first-so I will resurface daily to make sure everyone's doin' well. Weekends tend to hold less "news" (5 day week for lucky dogs). We'll get WILD on the radio though. AP opinions not wanted by someone? Suicide?? Last night I became tired of waiting for Atlantic, Nettwerk, or Poe to give us direction on how to make her music available for those who have not had a chance to hear it yet. Don't get me wrong! We want, we desire, we NEED that guidance, but we are not getting it. Last night I made some suggestions that would be very helpful in promoting the beauty and power of our Lady's words. I also placed these ideas, my opinions, on this list as well as on the Radio Ninja message board on p-o-e.com. Within hours there were 15 posts public and private by Angry Psychos both on this list and on p-o-e.com. Every single comment has been removed by SOMEONE! I tried to call our new "point person" appointed by Poe. I have not heard back from her yet, but she boldly posted her opinion to ignore all Poe music except for the cut blessed by Atlantic Records. I value her opinion! I have been working with Angie since she was hired by Atlantic and Poe to be Poe's publicist ( though Atlantic forbids her to use that title "for liability reasons, according to Angie.) It is MY intent to continue working with Angie, if she will have my help. But the fact is she does not know Poe's music, heck, she has never even MET Poe yet! She was introduced to Poe recently by Poe's boyfriend. Angie and Johnny are long time friends. Nothing wrong with THAT, many of us on this list are new. It is obvious that Angie cares about Poe and wants to see her succeed. I have talked to her on the phone for hours, her heart is good. She is learning about Poe and their spirits are similar. But I have a fear! When Haunted came out Atlantic hired Electronic Artists as a paid gun to do what WE have been doing so well for 6 years now! And we do it from our HEARTS, not for the health of our pocketbooks. We know the story of how Poe wanted Hey Pretty to be released and Atlantic wanted to push Wild. Poe relied on US, the APs, to spread the word and it took off! Atlantic changed their plans and following OUR lead threw all their weight behind Hey Pretty and with the APs and Atlantic working TOGETHER we kicked some SERIOUS ass! Poe has not had much time for us during the Depeche Mode tour, we were promised that things would be different now that the tour is over. I hope that happens, but replacing the APs AGAIN with a hired gun after we SHOWED them what WE could do is somehow "wrong" to me. And I also am concerned that we are being told things that are not true! The "rumored" chat was not a rumor, it was scheduled with Poe's manager on September 4th, Poe may not have heard the date, if her manager did not give her that information, but she DID approve the chat. Why do they say that is not the case. I tape phone conversations and I save my Email. I support the "Sleepy Poe " surprise, but don't call it a surprise when we KNOW that Poe is reading this list and knows all about it! The idea is GREAT, but don't treat us like we are stupid and try to make us believe Poe knows nothing about it! We will still contribute and we will still continue to show our love for Poe regardless of if she is sleepy, depressed, happy or sad! The APs will support this gift in a BIG way, but it is because we love Poe and want to give something back. Wild was released, a BEAUTIFUL song and one that will play well and SHOULD be supported on Adult Oriented Rock and several other genres. But it is NOT a Modern Rock song, it is NOT Alternative and it will not and IS not being played in those markets. We could throw ALL our efforts behind it and try to FORCE stations who don't play that kind of music from ANYBODY to play it....or we can target our resources and skills to push it at those stations that play that kind of music all the time and just don't know Poe yet! We can encourage stations giving it a try to know we LOVE it! But it is futile and a waste of needed talent to try to FORCE a station to play music that does not fit the format. That's OK, they don't play much Garbage and Tori Amos on Country stations either! What is wrong with continuing to push Wild on stations that play music it is well suited to AND pushing Control or Haunted to Modern Rock and Alternative stations? I have a strong feeling that many of the stations that pick up Wild will not be playing Control OR Haunted when they ARE released. Poe would certainly not be the FIRST artist to have more then one single playing in more then one format at the same time, she would just be the BEST one to do it! These are MY opinions and they CANNOT be censored on THIS list! I welcome Angie's opinions! I welcome Atlantic's, Electronic Artist's, every APs, every music lover's --heck ANYONE who has an opinion on how to support Poe, their opinion should be WELCOME, not censored. OK, Poe made it public, she is mad at me. She kicked me in the balls publicly in the newest echo. In all likelihood you have just read the equivalent of cyber suicide about Poe or "her people" ever using me again! I know they would prefer that I just disappear like Dean and like Jarrod almost did! But guess what???? I am not going to! I will hide in the shadows. My sources for news for my fellow APs likely will disappear with the push of the send button, but that is OK! I am not the important one here. Poe and her music is. If I have just committed Poeicide, then so be it. IF I have made one of you think. If I have made you want to find ways to promote this beautiful, soul quenching music regardless of which direction the money people want you to go, then it WILL have been worth it. Nice thing about THIS kind of Poeicide though is I will still be here. I will still help in any way I can, even if my help is not wanted or appreciated by Atlantic, Nettwerk, or even Poe, though I do hope that Poe will see the light and realize I am doing this FOR her, not against her! Angie, you can do great things for Poe and the APs will be here for you, but don't treat us like we are stupid and don't be dishonest with us. Tell it like it is! I have tried to handle this in private mail and I cannot get a response from Poe or Angie, though both have read my email. So, I guess I am done "officially" ..but UNOFFICIALLY I am still a Psycho and always will be! I will not be going ANYWHERE! I may be one of the most opinionated corpses in history! But it will be for good, not for hurt. My first opinion is that Poe, Atlantic, Nettwerk, and momentumworldwire would do well to realize that we APs can help! I know that Poe knows that, but I fear she is not hearing our voices! Maybe it is time we let her hear US again! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2001 16:33:19 EDT From: MSTieChristessa@aol.com Subject: Newbie alert!! This is a long and diverse list, so pay attention, class ;-) Ben Folds 5 & solo, The Ramones, The Beatles, Smashing Pumpkins, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Type O Negative, Anthrax, The Replacements, Weezer, Primus, Faith No More, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, The Misfits, Danzig, DMB, and many, many, others in hard rock, modern rock, and heavy metal genres. (6) Any other interesting information you wish to share? Yeah - Ibm also a MSTie, for those of you familiar with MST3K, a.k.a. the most entertaining & original program television has ever offered. I also enjoy the Sopranos, Seinfeld, Sex & the City, Vh1 shows and MTV-X (MTV for metalheads, basically). I'm also a quasi-movie buff (there is much left for me to explore) whobs favorite flicks are The Graduate, Swingers, Singles, Pulp Fiction, Mystery Alaska, Ed Wood, The Matrix, The Princess Bride, American Beauty, The Usual Suspects (too many more additions and Ibd lose you (that is, if I havenbt put you all to sleep by now!). Wild and Control are both great songs. At the risk of adding a bit more confusion to the debate I have to ask, what about walk the walk? Of all the soungs on that album I feel that it is the "catchiest" tune on there. If Haunted were a book "Walk the walk" would be the narrative hook of the story. I can't listen to it without turning up the volume dial a couple notches, that is if its not already pegged. -Alex ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2001 17:39:29 -0400 From: angie Subject: Re: The next single Hey there....we can promote every song--- No debate...all her songs are beautiful. She's versatile. I'm just working on a Top Ten List for WILD with a list of stations that have played it most. With our added support...oooompff....they'll continue very well on their own because it will 'stick'. That's where specifics come in. I have a great tool, this list, and it's Titled "WILD Spins"--it has nothing to do with my opinion of songs. (I didn't know any record company was pushing it.) I'm not an industry person. I'm me. There's history on this list, and I'm new. There's plenty of things I hear when I step into them...I'm not sneaky....just learning. Just workin'. Thanks for your help. I actually stayed up until 8am working away. I look haggardly. Coffee anyone? I can't even move to go get some. Done. Mp3s of all the current echos that I have are in the mp3 subfolder in the echos folder, for the lazy: http://poe.navelsex.com/POE/Poe_Echoes/mp3s/ An interesting note, the wav files were an odd format (I wondered why they were so small) so the resulting mp3s were a little bit bigger, and significantly bigger in some cases (1.04meg Wav to 10meg mp3. :P) So I think I'm going to go through and cut some of the bigger mp3s (say the ones over 1meg) quality settings. It shouldn't matter a whole lot for voice, we'll see, lemme know what you think of quality. :) At first glance/listen I couldn't really tell much difference. I did my best to keep the mp3s around 3megs or below. :) Enjoy! - -----Original Message----- From: owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org [mailto:owner-angry-psychos@smoe.org]On Behalf Of tearinhand Sent: Sunday, September 23, 2001 3:09 PM To: angry-psychos@smoe.org Subject: Echo problems.. anyone else having them? ok I have problems with the echo.. I don't know what everybody would like to know about me, but here are some basics: I'm 22 years old. I got into Poe when my friend let me borrow his copy of Hello a few years ago. I'm not exactly sure how to put into words why I like her music, but the point is that I do, and that's all that really matters in the end. I listen to a lot of different bands, some of my faves are: Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, The Cure, Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead, Underworld, Live, The Tragically Hip, Portishead, Tosca, LTJ Bukem, and Sloan. There's a lot more, but that's a good start. Other things I do aside from listening to music: rollerblade, snowboard, go to concerts..oh wait that's listening to music...... drive aimlessly, go for walks, sit at the park, think, write, talk to people, whatever comes up. you know, norml stuff. anywayws, i just wanna say hi and introduce meself briefly, if ya wanna know more, give me an email. - -dan ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2001 20:36:06 EDT From: LiveThruThisVow@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR: I'm new here Somebody told me that Sloan's music was played in the Virgin Suicides.
