I served in the Marines for 8 years. Three of those years were under the age of 21. I always felt that it was ironic that I was old enough to die for my country but I couldn't go down to the local bar and toss a few with my friends. Now, don't start flaming me about how most people under 21 are not mature enough to handle their alcohol. My experience is that most people OVER 21 can't handle it either. Maturity is a measure of mentality, not age. I feel that if a person is mature enough to serve his country and accept all the consequences that go with that, he or she should be allowed to decide whether or not they wish to drink. And the consequences for lack of maturity should be the same regardless of age. This is simply my take on this matter. Take it or delete it.
