Yeah and at one time it was illegal in Kentucky to carry an ice cream cone in your pocket. Just because something's a law doesn't mean that it's morally correct. Everyone has different morals, and if a *young AP* such as myself wants to enjoy my youth then it's going to be hard not being allowed to see bands I enjoy because of my age. And maybe the owner of the bar should reconsider owning one if a kid can sneak into it, it's his fault if he gets arrested. And the patrons I'm sure could care less > whether some kid is drinking or not. I know I don't. - --> My evening as a patron is disturbed, plus if serious trouble happens, I potentially lose a place that I had a legal right and privilege to be. Dont' get me started on the number of places forced to shut down in communities because of illegal activities by underage youth. From politics to cost considerations (maybe the bar owner CAN'T afford to repair the damage...) in the end it's not worth it. When I go out for an evening, the last thing I want to deal with is underage kids drinking. It's just a bad situation waiting to happen. This seems to be leaking into my other societal rant about how parents no longer teach their children about accepting responsibility and the potentail consequences for their actions. Yay. you got to hear cool music, but my legal rights and privileges awarded to me were infringed upon and are possibly threatened. It's selfish to act without thinking of the effect on others. The world does _not_ revolve around you. I'm not sure why this is such a difficult point of view to grasp. And for the record, I never said I didn't sneak into a place that I wasn't legally allowed to be in. I'm presenting an opposing POINT OF VIEW in order to combat the obvious one sided ignorance of the issue at hand. Why don't we talk about the increased levels of censorship and persecution of adults due to "saving and protecting hte children" from forms of entertainment that some find objectionable? I do not, and never will agree that an adult's rights and privileges should be limited or revoked because of how some material may not be good for children. If it's not FOR children, keep them out of it. It's a parents responsibility to do that. Not the government's or the industry. If parents want to let TV raise their children, they deserve what they get. Parents who allow their kids (or 'encourage') to be in adult places and situations would be the first to call a lawyer if the kid was injured. ANd you know what? In the legal sense, the BUSINESS would be to blame "for not keeping kids out", not the PARENT who encouraged it in teh first place. Even if they dropped them off themselves. It's happened. To quote Harvey Danger: "Been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding" See, now we're off on a tangent again. I didn't really want to go there. > > > it. And that's MY opinion - you can't tell me not to have it. And because someone acts irresponsibly doesn't necessarily mean they are in general a completely irresponsible person.
