Subject: Re: A history lesson - regional coordination PLEASE read!!! Well, look. We have angry-psychos.com, no? All (or most of) the AP's are listed in the Psycho Ward, no? With a little backend coding we could have an automailer that could post notifications to the list say..a week before a show, and an email so that someone could send mail to, say, ap-@smoe.org, or wherever (this approach is qmail-specific but there are lots of other ways to do it.) You could specify in your AP profile which states you wanted to be sent mailings for (ie, if you wanted to be notified for surrounding areas). I'd even be willing to help (but not do the whole project.) So basically what I'm saying is we could have ONE other list SPECIFICALLY for regional discussion, that will post to selected members based on what they specify in their preferences. That ought to keep everybody happy. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2001 16:22:08 -0400 From: "j." Subject: Re: Ego BS and Regional Stuff...... So you've been lurking for a month.. I don't want anyone to be let down-so am just gettin' it outta the way. For now,only---(this isn't / won't be the usual case). Poe is sleepy-exhausted --but still working 16 hr. days and gets 200 emails each day to answer, but has been SO busy working, she's not even checked them in a week. Whenever she slows down, this is the first thing she has to do. All work.....I hope she can rest soon. How she's overworked? She's rehearsing for all these present and future bookings. I've sent some "meet and greet" requests on behalf of the APs. Word I've received is.... she and Mark will do some meet and greets together, but they will be "set up" officially, not by me whatsoever (I honestly don't even know how it's been done in the past-who does what-----APs.....??? I'll check the links I've seen in posts and school myself when I have a spare sec. The more I know the better) Anyway-back to what's up....so these "meet and greets" have nothing to do with any of us for a little while. Don't let it get'cha down. Those who have met her know she's really into meeting up. I will never know what it feels like to tour or bounce around cities, let alone give a performance with all the energy you can muster. She's still going to visit the AP list and record an Echo for the front page of p-o-e.com. Make sure to give her love and support. Hope she's on her way up Up UP. I was told it's harder work than usual right now because it's absolute focus on WILD and making it a success. This makes sense to me--I hope everyone understands. Share with me though-I can't assume....I'm all for her keeping her health though. If you're very giving, like she is,-and no one's watching your back......that's a scary thought. I have a feeling she may feel guilt in some way-but am not speaking for her of course... My secret wish: I would like any of you willing, to let her know you understand her inability to have a sit down when she visits the list. Tell her it's ok and you can't wait to see the DVD shoot or somethin' nice and uplifting for her. You're her support. I think she could use a lot of it. Maybe we could send her a care package with some yummy Aveda bath stuff or something relaxing? Anyone up for that? I'll go get it. I was really happy to meet Michele for Cameron's performance today. Kinda' nervous that she had a camera so I'm sure I kept biting my lip or struggling for words, somethin' cool to say that never came? I even 'thumb's-up'd" the camera....(so sad.) Cameron's somethin' else with his talents, humor, and modesty. I told him about the DVD shoot....he might go. Dunnnnno. VMA stuff is on right now in San Fran. I promised myself I'd turn my computer off and just relax.....I'll be back in a bit. I can't believe I'm going to turn this off. Thanks for a good day --.I was nervous about the meet and greet info, but the more I get to know you, the more I see how tight everyone is. Just the best gigantic group. Says a lot about Poe--she's attracting beautiful people. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of any plans for the 14th show in KC? I'm heading there with an ETA of 5 pm. Hello? BTW, I will also boycott negativity. When I was a kid I went to daycare at this place right by my grade school. My friend's mom ran the place so we were brats to everyone else pretty much. They did have these organized events, like music time. One of the teachers played the guitar and we would all sing this song. I don't remember it all, but it was mainly: "If you can't say something nice....say nothing" Definitely some words we could all benefit from once in awhile, myself included. So, since I won't be able to hand out CDs I'm sending a few along with him. These are cds with about 460megs of stuff pulled off of poe.navelsex.com. Videos, interviews, songs, etc. These are for the Angry-Psychos out there who don't have the bandwidth to download these goodies. I've told my friend, his name is Justin (and he answers to Fuzzy), to hand these out to the APs. He's not on the list, but could you guys treat him as an honorary AP for the weekend? Don't scare him too much :) He is a fan of Poe, and he comes bearing gifts. :) So anyways, to make this short so I can get to bed, be on the lookout for Justin. http://ed.hunsinger.org/photos/Friends/mvc-080f.jpg That's about what he looks like still, although probably no pigtails. I've told him to look for the people with Angry-Psycho shirts. :) Hope he catches up to you guys! :) - -Ed (Divinity) ed@poe.org http://divinity.relic.net ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Sep 2001 00:49:18 EDT From: PURPLMOJO@aol.com Subject: Re: Sleepy Poe & Care Package for her Count me in, I can do pay pal as well. But I gotta get out before I get to know people and don't want to leave. ;-) much love. matthew. if you place a thing in the center of your life that lacks the power to nourish, it will eventually poison everything that you are and destroy you. as simple a thing as an idea or your perspective on your self or the world. no one can be the source of your contempt. it lies within. in the center. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Sep 2001 00:56:40 EDT From: PURPLMOJO@aol.com Subject: Poe ad in gear Just thought I would mention there is a really nice full page add for poe in the current Gear magazine.
