I am one fatigued mammasita. I want what my head contains in relation to Poe... to belong to you, as it's learned. (I'm in Poe pre-school, but I'm going for my masters-complete crash course and what a beautiful set of over 900 people to help guide me a bit.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Can I sound like a butt kisser? I'm not, but I reread it and it sure the hell sounds that way: --You REALLY love her!!! I've never been in contact with this amount of people. I was ambivalent and nervous 'cause I have a wussy side, but you are the gentle fun loving family that stays together through the thick of it all. Always a sense of fun, always open to learning as the flames of the flaming die down. She'll know I'm feelin' at home. Thank you, too. I'm SO glad I didn't get the shaft. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ POE IS: 1.) Exhausted with the Gravity Games-preparing. She's making time, and trust that it's difficult to do, for YOU. You'll be hearing from her personally. I just got an e-mail that said it's the GGames that are inhibiting this. I'm going to UNofficially (what a stupid thing to do-watch me be wrong) say..... within the next 10 days. Why UNofficially: I'm unable to see any reason someone would communicate to me that they are going to say 'hi' ....unless she's gonna do a "chat"---and the element of surprise aspect, so just be ready. (That's true too-it would be an extra step to e-mail me first?? She knows I'll see it? I dunnnno, we'll find out together.) 2.) I inquired about Echoes-recording them...it's a yes-I'll tell you right when it's uploaded. (For new APs-Echoes are her conversations to you/ p-o-e.com thing /on the front page) IMPORTANT- 3.) POE REALLY DOES READ THE POSTS on www.p-o-e.com. I didn't know that until two days ago, which is the main reason for me inserting links to forums, as of late. She will sit down and see how everyone is doing. 4.) SHE'S HAPPY ABOUT THE MERCHANDISE IDEAS....OF COURSE! POST MORE OF THEM-THAT's THE FORUM REALLY GETTING HER ATTENTION. I came in right when it was a new focus. I know of a few items that artists are making, and a couple of ideas that are being focused on regarding merchandise. They're great. You'll love the stuff that will be available. I don't know if I'm at liberty to share, and have to respect that. I get the feeling they're all so busy, that to take time to tell me what's going to be available in detail would just cut into precious time-and it will be ready SO soon that I should avoid asking for that. But get those ideas in while they're making merchandise, if you want to have a part in the first wave!!!! 5.) The fan sites are incredible. I will be limited in what I can do---in a legal sense. I have to follow more rules, oh what a joy. *****Still a slight question in my mind regarding the site I maintain: I want to be upfront and say that I think the number of hits it receives reflects very well upon how "Hot of a commodity" she is. If I post a link to APs-it has nothing to do with my wanting you to see how great I am- I didn't design a darn thing on the site-it was there for me, waiting. It's all for Poe looking bright and shiny in the eyes of those that are not her fan base. 6.) The Radio Ninja's Forum in the message board....please post anything you feel should be known. Radio is important----I'm gonna post a few things regarding stations to the AP list tonight/this morning-whatever you wanna call it. I need help. 7.) Banner Idea--AP Julie P & her new " www.psychothreads.com" asked for a banner that links to p-o-e.com to be created and that was a good'n. I sent it to the visually creative man that will have it ready in two seconds. 8.) For AP MIKI: Put #6 on the poe merchandise BBS....wow that was a good one- ball....stressball. The simple genius behind it. I believe Poe has an affinity for pink--but gotta have the red, maybe whip out the B-dazzler and give it some sparkle. Little mirror studs for the glam effect. He came in 4th out of 10 with 6,591 of the votes. He spent $1500 on his campaign. Not sure if it's still same today, but at time you only needed to be 18 to run for mayor. As for getting a campaign going. Various issues come to mind. What affiliation do you plan on running. Getting in contact with your local affiliation would be best to get some help. If by chance your independent third party (example libertarian) You may have a harder time. However whatever party you run under you should be able to contact their headquarters and be able to get some help or maybe even some financial assistance in the least they may be able to provide you with procedures for running & possible ways of receiving state or federal campaign funding. The one party, I mean two party system makes it very rough on independents to get on the ballot for most positions you'll need to collect a certain amount of signatures or you may be able to pay a fee in place of the signatures. In my days of politics w/libertarian party I spent lots of times at booths getting signatures and signing people up to vote. Anyone can be a deputy register (be 18 if I remember right was only req. that was 10 years ago LOL) If you get past the red tape and actually get on the ballot then that shows your serious and dedicated a good sign. Politics in my opinion is the red tape & who you know, who you blow and ass kissing. Getting people to vote for you has to do with charisma & media exposure. Being able to get your message out and convince people your honest and know what your talking about is paramount. Everyone is pretty much jaded so giving out typical party rhetoric platforms don't really cut it these days. Meg don't let anyone stop you or tell you it's impossible, your crazy. The passion of youth is invincible and should be embraced. The reason older people tell youth never let go of your dreams, never give in or give up is in my opinion as you get older life tends to kick the shit out of you and you lose the resilience of youth. Little by little you become more complacent, more routine and soon you find yourself turning into those older people you made fun of for being so boring or uptight. So they tend to look back at their youth or other youths and remember what it was like to be young, dumb and full of cum Haha, sorry had to say that. Anyway this is not every adult naturally, there are some adults that have kept that youth in them and there are some that have walked away from life's trials unscarred and wiser with the experiences. So getting older don't mean you have to be come a crotchety old bastard haha. Anyway that's my two cents. I've included a mp3 from one of Jello Biafras spoken words where he talks about when he ran for mayor. Very funny and insightful. Worth the download time. It's 21min on CD so the mp3 I'm sure is going to be lengthy especially if your on dial up. Tuesday September 04 08:44 PM EDT Howard Stern's Hank the Dwarf Dies Hank the Angry, Drunken Dwarf is dead. The 4-foot-1 Howard Stern sidekick, known for being, well, drunk and angry, died Tuesday at the age of 39. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. Born Henry Nasiff, the diminutive performer got his break in 1996, when he and a friend from Boston dinner theater (yes, Hank was in dinner theater) drove to New York City and decided to try to get on the Stern show. Hank's vigil at New York's K-Rock studios began at about 5:30 a.m., and the Stern crew quickly took notice. As Doug Z. Goodstein, Hank's manager and the producer of Stern's E! TV show, once recounted to E! Online, "There was just a compelling feature of a drunk, belligerent midget." (As Hank was fond of yelling, "I'm not a midget, I'm a dwarf, you a--hole.)" He soon become a recurring member of Stern's so-called "Wack Pack," joining the likes of Crackhead Bob and the Elephant Boy in Howard's pantheon of oddballs. Hank appeared more than two dozen times on the Stern show, most notably outfitted in a pink bunny suit and always sounding off in his inimitable way. He parlayed his fame into a Website, www.hankthedwarf.com (where fans could snap up official "Hank Says: Don't Drive & Drink" key chains), and a side career entertaining at parties (for a fee, he'd karaoke, lapdance, bartend or hurl insults at guests). Hank hit his pop-culture high point in 1998, when, thanks to a grassroots campaign by Stern faithful, he was named the Most Beautiful Person in the World per a 1998 People online poll. sp00k etc ... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2001 05:52:28 -0700 (PDT) From: Caleb Munro Subject: NPR david usher anyone out there listen to david usher? hes the lead singer of moist but does his own stuff... i just mention because i thought he only had one cd until one of my new roommates showed me his newer one ... However, I think there has to be some boundaries. Calling people Mr. F N Know-it- all and demonstrating little but a knack for pissing people off is not constructive. We are all here for the same reason- I have not yet encountered a person on this list who is unreasonable (I hope you are not the first) and by such anyone who ever want to get involved and be an organizer of some sort SHOULD. Everyone here is a leader and a follower- you should know this since you make chat possible- but are not dictator (note: not DICK TATER)of what can or can not be talked about there. I commend you for taking the initiative to give us the tools for us all to talk in real time. Incidentally, that is what the regional sites are about too. They are simply tools. So if John Doe wants to organize a get together with others in Bumblebee, Tennessee- he can instantly find people in his own area, announce he wants to get together, hammer out the details, put reminders on the regional calendar, and post pictures from the event after it is done. ALL at the same site without bothering people in Rochester NY about a pizza lunch and adding 30 posts to the list. Also, please note there were some benefits at the Yahoo! group which can not be used on the main list (posting pics and having instant reminders as well as a library of websites, local radio stations contacts, interviews etc. all at your fingertips (no pun intended). So once upon a time when I said we need to convince people of the benefits of using these sites (as you tried to quote me out of context on) THAT what I was talking about. Anyway, I did not mean to come here to debate the sites again, sorry (tangent). THE BIGGEST POINT IS THIS, THESE EFFORTS ARE PRODUCTIVE, AND PEOPLE'S GOOD-INTENTIONED EFFORTS SHOULD NOT BE MET WITH NAME CALLING AND DISRESPECT. One of your last posts ended with the comment "Enjoy your anger." I think you should reevaluate why you continue to post all this negativity to the board. I also believe that at this point, EVERYONE knows what EVERYONE'S opinions are on regions- Sp00k and some others don't like them, myself and others do like them. We all have each other's e-mail addys and if you want to be nasty we can all continue this debate privately since if I were not involved in this, I SURE WOULD BE SICK OF READING ABOUT IT. Lastly, sp00k I would be thrilled if you would take the opportunity to plan the first NEAP gathering. If you don't mind that it might affect the number of e-mails you get. I would like to see if we can ALL go ONE week without a personal attack on a fellow psycho over an opinion, idea, or philosophy of a fellow psycho. I talked to a fellow Psycho that has been on the list since 1996 and she says it is not possible, that she has not seen a SINGLE week go by without somebody fighting with somebody else... Is it even worth trying? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Sep 2001 17:25:10 GMT+1 From: Thierry Pottier Subject: Re: Spammer alert... Spammer, angry spammer... Anthony ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2001 11:36:05 EDT From: Dan98908@aol.com Subject: Poe/AP event policy for ME First off...I am not employed by Nettwerk, Fishkin,Atlantic or Poe. I am simply an AP no more, no less important then any ONE of you! I don't "lead" anything, I don't "run" anything, I am not "in charge" of anything. ANY opinion I have is no more and no less important then the opinion of ANY of you. I have been able to develop relationships among"Poe's people" and was asked by Poe to help coordinate events that are AP/Poe related. I have set up a few. I am planning MANY more! This is what I have done in the past, this is what I will be doing in the future..... When there is a chance for the APs to have a meet and greet with Poe or when there is going to be a major AP event ( not three of us getting together for Pizza, but something meaningful that some may want to travel farther then across the street to see), I will announce it in the main AP list and on p-o-e.com. After the event has been announced all PLANNING for that event ( what time it should be, what day of the week, where it should be, who needs rides, who needs a place to stay) will be on the sub board that covers the geographic area where the event will be held. If there is a change from the initial post in the main list, another post will be made in the main list as to when, where, what the event is and where it is being coordinated. Any questions of an individual nature will be answered privately, if it affects several people it MAY be answered on the main list. Shortly before the event another announcement will be made on the main list to see if anyone else wants to come. After the event folks who attended will be encouraged to post their experiences on the main list. The theory I am basing this on is that, if you can come to watch Poe shoot a TV show you may want to travel to another region for that, so you should be able to know it is happening on the main list. But if you need a ride, a place to stay, want to be reminded of the time, date, location or want to know what everyone is wearing...it is likely that the 800 that can not or don't want to come will not be interested, nor could they help....but on the local event list you have a good chance of getting that help without the others being bothered. After the event the other 800 may want to know what Poe said, how things went, what was it like and that would be good for everyone. To ME this does not seem unreasonable. If ANYONE has a better idea then please tell me what it is! My way is not perfect, it is just the best I have come up with so far. All I ask is if you choose to attack it that you have an alternative in mind.. I won't take the time to respond to "you suck" posts, or "your idea sucks" posts...BUT, post "your idea sucks BECAUSE..." and "it would be better if you did THIS..." .now THAT is something I can use and that I welcome! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2001 12:28:10 EDT From: Dan98908@aol.com Subject: A history lesson - regional coordination PLEASE read!!! Had a chance to talk to both Jarrod and Robby about the history of event coordination and guess what??? Not much has changed except upgrades in numbers and venues... According to Robby there would be a "rochester@poe.org", "las vegas@poe.org", that EVERY SHOW had it's own sub list for the coordination of AP events during THAT particular individual SHOW! At that time there were only 300 members or less and there WAS no Yahoo or AOL, as we know it today.... Now there over 900 members, three TIMES the amount! If we did it the same way they did it then there would have been 48 sub boards set up, one for each event. Not all 900 members have poe.org addresses and the technology available has improved significantly since 1996! From mail I have seen some "don't get it" about the regional coordination groups. They view it as local "chapters" of the APs. And I see nothing wrong with locals meeting and hanging out there....but that is not how I PERSONALLY ( as in my OWN opinion, what I as an individual CHOOSE to do) use them. I live in Washington State. That puts me in the WCAP coordinating area. But let's say I just found out I can go to Kansas City on the 14th to see Poe!! (I wish!!) I would go join MWAP's yahoo site and find out who is meeting where and if someone can pick me up at the airport, where is the closest decent hotel... Nobody ( I don't think so anyway) wants these to be exclusive clubs limited to those that live in that area. They are meant to cover where the EVENT is, not just where the AP lives. Since I help set up events all over the US I will be signed to ALL of them. What if someone wanted to have an "every Friday let's all get together at Joe's Pizza Emporium" meeting in San Francisco....well, that is in the WCAP geographic coordination area BUT, do most of us CARE who is coming to pizza on Friday? I think not :) Unless Poe or Mark is going to be there... So what if they decide to set up a BAAP, or someone up here wants to do a NWAP, and discuss REALLY local stuff??? My feeling is so what??? It will work or not, if it helps people get together that that is great! Do I think it is needed? No Is there anything "wrong" with it or is it "bad", "harmful", "EVIL"??? I don't THINK so! The only problem is if you only hang out in the LBAP (Lower Baja AP) group, then you may miss that Poe wants to have a concert at your house on Friday!! So even if you are a LBAP you would WANT to follow the main list CLOSE, because that is where ALL events of significance should be announced, but then those that want to come to your house to hear her could go to the LBAP list to find out where the HELL Estero Beach is! When they find out it is only an hour south of San Diego some crazy West Coast types may want to attend and would miss it if it were only being talked about in the LBAP list. That is not a good example, but it made me smile so I will include it. The point I was trying to make is that if we did it EXACTLY like it was done when the APs were a small group we would have more then 56 sub lists with the DM tour dates and the side shows and events since. I think we can ALL agree that is TOO many. Jarrod used to coordinate AP events, Robby did last years and it is a HUGE job, I could not have done it without Robby, Erik, Becky, BichNoc,Sandra,Sue, Melissa, KoriG, Dean,Mark and so many others helping me! Some, who have not done this kind of coordination, don't realize that WE cannot do it without this kind of help that the regional coordination system that we have worked SO hard to do is the best method we could come up with to do it. I won't take the time to respond to "you suck" posts, or "your idea sucks" posts...BUT, post "your idea sucks BECAUSE..." and "it would be better if you did THIS..." .now THAT is something I can use and that I welcome! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Sep 2001 11:40:14 -0500 From: "aNfrey cHeng" Subject: Re: Prelude to a boycott....
