Then it occurred to me that it does not even deserve comment...in fact there IS a disturbing truth about the Yahoo Groups that Sp00k hates so much, and a possible REAL reason for these posts. Sp00k has been hurt and we can help make him happy... Everyone should go to the following link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/angrypsycho Sp00k started this Yahoo Angry Psychos group back in November of 2000 and only 5 people joined ( including me). Perhaps if we all joined HIS group he would be a happier person. The only moderation that I see going on in ANY of these groups or on the list itself is Sp00ks UNmoderation. And I think the ONLY place we should utter Poe's name ,outside the main list, IS on #poe, the only thing currently available on poe.org, and we KNOW things will be good then...after all Sp00k runs the show there. Remember the UNmoderation last time Poe joined us in chat? As for everything else: For a guy that hates redundancy these posts sure were redundant For a guy that hates moderation you sure are bold at telling us what we should do and not do, what should and should not be on the list. What groups and websites we should and should not participate in? God what if you found out I was on the Tori or Garbage list too and sometimes use p-o-e.com!! I would be excommunicated from the APs!!! If Sp00k had HIS way... For a guy that constantly is posting redundant efforts at moderating the use of NPR you forgot to put NPR on this drivel. Can you define hypocrite? OK, I'm done, your turn! Please know that I am not mad, when I was not gagging reading your post I was laughing my ass off! I do agree though about the titles. I think Regional Coordinator is more in keeping with our intent in forming these groups. I propose that we make that change! Well, I could also point out that making the future is a whole lot easier if you're guided by knowing and avoiding the mistakes of the past..but regardless of me playing devil's advocate, look at the vast body of elected officials in any area and tell me -- are they tending more to be teenagers/early 20's, or more like 40+? :) Whatever it sounds like, though, don't think I'm trying to discourage her, I think it's a good thing that someone her age can look at the political system and not conclude that it's hopelessly fucked and we should just flush it all. So I wish her the best in her endeavors. However, I do think she's a bit naive if she expects that the voters will vote for her when she's held up for public review alongside a professor. The word 'professor' by itself, plus the circumstance of their respective ages, almost guarantees him an overwhelming victory. Joe Average doesn't care about any rationalization; all he cares about is a quick sound byte. It's the truth -- these are the same people (of different generations) that made TRL and TGI Friday's popular, and invented all sorts of embarassing dance moves, 80's hair rock, 80's CHRISTIAN hair rock, and voted not one but TWO generations of Bushes into office. Well, one, at least -- I still firmly believe that Junior didn't win, but instead bought his way to the top. Not that Gore would've been much better, but at least he won fairly. That he's done SO much that he's the leader of all things Poe and for there to be interest in another regional group would be a waste of time. In addition to all of the other things I spend my time doing, I decided that I wasn't willing to fight Dan and his loyal minions for the simple right to FORM a recognized NWAP chapter. It did come across as pompous, arrogant, and self-important. I mean, this whole thing is supposed to be about POE, but it seemed that many "Regional Coordinators" wanted to make it all about THEM. I mean, really - when one chick blasted Dan for something I don't really remember - HOW many people leapt into the "Oh, my GOd- Dan's dedicated his life to Poe and done so much for us! He's a near perfect being like Jesus and he can't possibly be wrong so stop picking on him" fight? No one is denying what hardcore, loyal APs have done in the past nor what they will do in the future. But I will say that the stronghold type monopoly that seems to exist over organizing Poe events, etc has made me want to me LESS involved, not more. I deal with enough self-important, power hungry people where I work. The last thing I want to do is become involved in a group where one voice is more important (and more respected) than individual members. Once again, it's just how I see things, and it may or may not have any basis in actual reality that any of us care about. Anyway, since it's a promo it's free to be spread around as long as it's kept free. Nobody really cares with all the bootleg/pirated stuff on there either. Ed - either be consistent and say R&S can be there, or take down A Rose Is A Rose, Padre Fear, Strange Wind, Hey Pretty (Drive-By 2001 mix) even though Poe let us have that one, and Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer ;PPPPPPPP In print and available to buy or not, those all fit under your definition of "copyright" because they were commercially released, and shouldn't be there! For the record, I really don't think Poe or Atlantic care very much... Also some schools do block booking (book the same act around the same date with another school), NACA books are good for that resource. BUT... when you post to the entire list and mention me by name... when you have never ONCE met me.. nor ever emailed me... THEN WE HAVE A PROBLEM... examples: >AND, what a JOKE, look at this list! HA! sp00k... you CAN KISS MY ASS on this one. obviously you have not read the AP list in the last year... [and for the record, i do consider myself a regional coordinator.. not a leader of a clan] how many times have a organized get-togethers for the SEAP's in the last year of "haunted" being out? 3.. count them.. 3. 2 of which POE was involved in... i worked hard coordinating those events... examples can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/rustyshelby22/PoeBordersAtlanta110900.html http://www.geocities.com/rustyshelby22/POEonthebricks052501.html that is all i have to say sp00k is the biggest joke i have ever seen on this list... obviously he is arguing points that he has not done his homework on & now looks like an idiot. i am a regional coordinator for the south east angry psychos... i think i've done a fine job over the years.. i will continue to do a fine job... and i could care less what anyone else thinks - -rusty www.rustyisdabomb.com the web site | agentorange2@mindspring.com | rusty@poe.org ***************************************************************************** ********************************* Jennifer Nettles Band: www.jennifernettles.com | www.jennifernettlesband.com | ON TOUR. ***************************************************************************** ********************************* POE: "Haunted" the album, featuring the hit "Hey Pretty" & the new single "Wild". POE was there, as she is the mistress of groove... and she can read you mind. she has taking important data from your minds & souls & stored them in the house of leaves. i was contacted by dan late last night.. asking me to plan another get together... (he is on the mother ship, doing as he is told by POE) i have been told to, and have completed, our reservation out in cumming, ga. it's a small little farm, but will do. a stage is being built, in case the mistress of groove shows up. we are to head there in novemeber 2001 to begin the final stages of alternative radio take over. after that, we will leave on the mother ship to our home planet. all further information will ONLY be sent via the yahoo! group for the SEAPs. as, we will be vearing off from the AP list all together. any friends you may have made outside the SEAP community must be terminated at this point, as we are now moving forward. and if everything goes right... as we are not planing on leaving the planet until october 2002... we are in negotiations with POE's management to have her sign a contract that will only have her performing in the south east region of the united states until we depart. this way, not only can we break off of the AP list, but if we can take POE with us, then, we can just do away with all the other AP's all together... and we will have POE for ourselves. now that you have read my mission statement..
