If you do not have the authority to contract a show, don't call!!!! Patrick said it was OK to post this number and address since this may very well turn into something workable and help Poe get out even sooner. If individuals start calling for info though it could back fire on us. By the way Sharmel, someone from Rutgers called and talked to Fishkin today about booking Poe, but there was nothing else going on close to tie it to which would make in a long shot financially. Florida Southern has a reputation for booking musicians who appeal to the students, such as Dave Matthews Band and Edwin McCain. I have encountered many students besides myself who not only own her cds, but are incredibly blown away by her talent not only as a singer, but as a lyricist and her stage presence as well. Student support for ACE faltered last year and this could be the perfect opportunity to bolster your organization's reputation, not only on campus, but also within the community. Also, I gave tours over the summer and advertising that an artist like Poe had a concert at this school could show prospective students that Florida Southern College is cutting edge when it comes to music. Some of Poe's hit songs include "Hello" and "Hey Pretty" and her new cd has recieved great reviews. Her cd is especially appealing to college students as it deals with the loss of her father (and loss in general) and the promise of healing and new beginnings. Also, her brother, Mark Z. Danielski recently won a young author award for his book, House of Leaves, and would likely be along on the concert. So, you are appealing to students on two levels: musically and intellectually. If you are interested in learning more about this incredible singer, please visit www.p-o-e.org. Also, i shall be expecting a call or email back regarding this matter. I also have cds of her music and video tapes of her live performances if you would like to review how a concert of hers may be like. Thank you for your time. Christina M. Marnell x4955 FSC mailbox 4530 Just talked to Poe's manager about this and he said that if 4-5 dates could be strung together this COULD be doable! Find out who books talent at your school and have them contact: Steve Seidel Creative Artists Agency 9830 Wilshire Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA 90212-1825 (310) 288-4545 These guys are SERIOUS and busy!!! I have called them ONCE and they are the ONLY people I have talked to that intimidated me!!! PLEASE do not call them unless you are prepared to book them. But like Patrick said, string several of these together and it could be done... Once again PLEASE do not call these folks unless you have the authority to book or are doing so at the request of the people who book and are in an "official" capacity. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Sep 2001 21:28:55 EDT From: Prozackitty16@aol.com Subject: Duchess?
