I only saw it about a month ago, but it quickly became one of my all time favorites! I just can't get enough of it, everytime it comes on I just sit there intraced for 30 minutes. I've taken to quoting and doing entire monologues from the show. I know, I know, this is very sad, it's a cartoon, it's made for little kids with the attention span of crayons, blah blah blah. I still like it, and I can't wait to watch it tomorrow or today I guess... at 1:30 (although last week catdog was on... god i hate that show). But yeah, just wondering if anyone else has seen it, and what your opinion of it is. Tessa "And now I leave you to your... em..." "Moosey fate! Say moosey fate!" "Your moosey fate." "Yeah!!! BT mixed that album too! That's why one of their dumb videos is trying to project the *rave* scene. Was it Britney Spears who claimed to be a huge Nirvana fan and didn't even know what Bleach was? That was Nick Carter, nevermind. And you know what? Her album will NEVER FUCKING BE ROCK UNTIL SHE CAN PICK UP A DAMN GUITAR! She'll be covering "I Love Rock n Roll" on HER new album? It's maybe 30% hers. It's not rock, it's trying to transform into electronica, but it will never be anything but 3rd rate cheap, cheesy wannabe techno bullshit. So what if she's a fan of rock? "Her" music is not rock and "her" music is NOT Portishead. So what if the Beatles did covers? I bet they didn't cover 4 out of 13 songs on every album they did. By the way, who CARES if Rolling Stone praised it? Rolling Stone bashed Led Zeppelin, Cream, even POE for Christ's sakes! Since when did a magazine have the right to say what's good and what isn't? And by the way, I'm quite happy with my breasts, they won't have saggy stretch marks by the time I'm 25. So what if NSYNC can play instruments? Lab monkeys can play a piano! If they can play, why don't they show their so-called talent on their albums and prove they know more than 3 chords on the guitar. Britney Spears will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be rock n roll. Why? Because she's never written a rock song! She's stolen everybody else's. Madonna is not rock either. I cannot WAIT to see the day that Britney asks to cover a Patti Smith song or asks Kathleen Hanna to collaborate with her. ~*~ Your lyrics are dumb like a linoleum floor, I'll walk on it, I'll walk all over you!~ Le Tigre ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 Aug 2001 23:53:26 -0500 From: "Knight Arthur" Subject: NPR: RE: Invader Zim I have only seen a few minutes of this show while my sister was watching it, but I know that it was written by Jhonen Vasquez (Squee, Fillerbunny, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac) and all of his comics have been great atleast, so Invader Zim being good would be no suprise. You really should pick up some of his book though. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Sep 2001 00:55:16 EDT From: GypsyRose52483@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR: Invader Zim That cartoon rocks!! I absolutely love it!!!! I am sad though, I don't get to see it very often. I think I've seen about five or six episodes. My family only gets cable in the living room where my brothers and sisters play. It scares them. =( Robin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Sep 2001 00:58:40 EDT From: JewlyaINAP@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR Bad Trader Apology 2 In a message dated 8/31/01 9:31:25 PM Pacific Daylight Time, buggsprstr0@hotmail.com writes: > > actually shari > i hate to break it to you..i don't actually have a trade with you..i total > you i'd send you the stuff being nice..the trade for soundcheck was the > really expensive dinner i got you and such > -tom Tom, I am sorry I started this publically, and I really wish we could end this positively. I do appologize for my part in this, and I dont think the list needs to hear anymore groveling in appology, or rebuttals and then commentary. You say 'dinner and such?' Well, I am not about to fight with you and post it to the list from this point on, but that was not what I remember. I do remember being broke that day though, so regardless....thank you for dinner. And aside from that, I also gave you my backstage pass, cause I know your a pass collector:)....which occured after dinner and the show and meeting poe....as we were leaving. I told you, I am more than willing to cover costs for the blank video and audio media, and I am also more than willing to pay for a copy of the pictures that day that includes me and poe together. If you dont want to let me copy the role, I am more than willing to just get my photos of Poe and I. And I will pay for shipping of course. As it is the photos of her and I and all of us were the most of all important things...but I am sure it is all together. Either way......All I ask is your word..Which I belive I have, as you told me that when I would reaffirm your honor you would keep 'your end of the deal.". I look forward to hearing that you accept my appologies, and that when you are able to return to your former domicile, claim your things and are once again comfortable, that I will recieve an email from you asking for my address, Sincerely, Shari "Sharmel" Finkelstein ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Sep 2001 00:59:18 EDT From: Iamtheher4u@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR: Invader Zim lol stupid children. You're really not that far behind though... there's only about 9 shows total, so 5 out of 9 isn't bad. We only get cable in one room too, but luckily I got my sister into the show too, so we watch it and laugh histerically. What you need to do is get those kids out of the house so you can watch some quality cartooning! Good luck! Tessa "And now I leave you to your... em..." "Moosey fate! Say moosey fate!" I've always tried to be as compassionate and forgiving as he is. Thankfully a little of it has rubbed off.. Star wise I would say Henry Rollins is a role model. He truly is a reaissance man of the last decade. He's introspective and takes on his personal demons head on, Channels his rage into positive motivation. He's as his qoute says "I didn't get a phd,. I just said I don't want to work at pizza hut, I don't want to join the navy. I guess I'll just have to go out and be awesome" That is exactly what he did, from punk icon of the 80's to modern day renaissance man. Doing everything from movies to spoken word. He writes books, poetry, does spoken word, has his own record company, his own band. His intensity and emotion in whatever he does just draws you to him.
