Except for this - she got 8 minutes and 50 seconds total, including about 10 seconds of the intro, pretty short of the 12 minute max limit I had predicted. ;( Good Charlotte got the rest of the time. I had feared they would get a little more time since they were the ones shown more in the bumper/spot/ad for the show. For the intro, Poe says something like "Stay tuned, we're gonna be famous!" Poe was wearing a black shirt, which had white mesh sleeves that end in a wrap around her fingers, same as the Hey Pretty video. I know she seems to have a bunch of these. She had on a glittery skirt over her usual tights/pants. Can't recall the shoes at the moment, black. I believe her eyeshadow was violet-y. There was a close-up of her necklace, which says TOURIST. One mystery solved, still would like to know about that other necklace she had which she was photographed in last year, the one with three or four lines of big capital text. There were lots of good shots of everyone in the band. The sound itself was a little muddled, for Good Charlotte too I think (what little I heard). The people who got onstage for Walk The Walk were heard very briefly singing at the end, but they were cut out of the video, and their singing wasn't in the audio to the end of the song. Very sketchy editing with that one. The crowd shots have people standing attentively, some waving to the music and some waving to the camera, but not hopping around. After Walk The Walk, Poe yells thanks, we could play all night. Mark (emeraldbay) said that was actually what she said at the end of the whole show. He also said the crowd was much more active later in the show. For Hey Pretty Sigve has a (leopard-y?) hat on, broad, square flat top and a big brim. Poe was wearing a similar hat in San Francisco but plain white. Sigve called it the "Mark hat" - not sure what that's all about. For Haunted the hat is sitting on a hat stand. Obviously all out of order. TZD's head is present, only one though, not three. They didn't show Poe gripping it. The Hey Pretty Drive-By 2001 mix with MZD wasn't shown, they put on the album version. It was somewhat like Leno, with Poe singing the beginnings of the intro "late," which some interpret as nervousness. I think it's a combo of the timing Poe wanted and being used to not singing those parts by now because of Mark talking at those points. For the "building that has 2000 floors" line, she sang up at the people in the balconies. Nice coincidence, since the balconies and escalators went up several floors. She brought it back down to the PsYcHoS on the floor for the "it's you they're falling for" part. For the slow part, she sang into the camera...then scowled, put her hand in front of it to block it and belted out "Feel me now!" Then she jammed with Sigve, who did the usual shaking of his head reply to "don't you wanna take a ride with me" and they exchanged peace signs or something. The POE logo occupies the labels of Cody's records. For Haunted, the middle was cut off, but then they showed Poe walk offstage to greet her fans, Craig (I think) keeping her company. They cut to her singing in the back. While Poe's off in the crowd, it cuts to Sigve offering a kissy kissy. I think he mouthed "I love you" before the smooch but I'm not positive. He said *something.* "Take me home, take me home, guys" Poe says, and with that she is lifted up and continues singing "ba da pa pa" while surfing straight, sure and steady back up to the front. They show Poe getting halfway there before cutting to Poe talking about Bowie inspiring her. It would have been nice if there was a pic in the background or something of him so the kids would see who the heck she was talking about. Instead they showed a couple random Hall of Fame displays. I will try to transcribe her exact intro and outro tomorrow. All in all, not a great butchering job, not completely sucky either. Poe is good, getting exposure, and that's what matters. I wish I could have been there! Somewhat relevant note: as I rewound the tape, MTV's UltraSound was on with Sum41 (who I can't stand). The announcer said that they were one of only *four* rock bands who have *ever* made it to TRL's number one spot. I suppose as one explores these gorgeous grassy hills of the ozarks, a climb in any direction will deliver you unto the bowels of the hillbilly kingdom. In these rolling valleys, in the mist of crystal springs that flow rich with wild trout, you will certainly find the skeletal remains of old pickup trucks and gutted refrigerators. As you dare to climb once again, you will begin to notice the quaint homesteads which are sprinkled like wildflowers across the countryside seem to be moving closer and closer together, so close in fact they could be considered communities. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILY. This is all in fun, of course. Though my home certainly has it's share of "darkness" truth is, Arkansas is honestly a beautiful state. I suppose I am a better person for having experienced it. Being an avid fly-fisherman, the hundreds of miles of untamed wilderness area rich with cold flowing streams is my precious escape from the madness of everyday life. Besides, me and my Uncle Joe Bob and my cute cuzzin Elmer have some timeless memories in the thick woods of these Madison county hills. So there. heh. If you did not receive a letter it is because you did not join the ward, or joined with an invalid e-mail address. As stated in the letter, the regional groups have been set up to allow APs in localized areas to easier meet, greet, chat and hang with each other. The members of the groups will also be informed of local shows, events and information. The regional groups will not replace nor interfere with the Angry Psychos main mailing list, or any existing state AP groups (but will give them a place to meet and organize). Since these letters have gone out, numbers in each of the regions have gone up except in one (where few people live). This letter is to inform you of the current status of each group. The largest subscribed region (as of 8/30/01) is SEAP Southeastern states of NC,SC, TN, AL, GA and FL they stand at 63%. Next largest is the MAAP (Mid Atlantic) region of Lower NY, PA, DE, NJ, DC, MD, and the VA, WV have 47% subscribed. WCAP (CA, OR and WA) are a very chatty group and have 33% enrollment. And although not many members big yet, SWAP the Southwestern states of CO, UT, NV, AZ, NM have 27% of their possible members. Southern APs at SOAP (OK, TX, AK, LA and MS continue growing and have just reached 23%- these guys are also very talkative. Midwestern (MWAP) states (MI, WI, IL, OH, KY, IN, NE, MO, and KS are also starting to rapidly rise with a 21% membership (from just 5% yesterday). Only the Northeastern region (NEAP) seems to be lagging on checking in to their list at 14%- but I am a proud card-carrying member. The North central (NCAP) area does not have any members yet but likely because we dont have many psychos in ID, WY, MT, ND, SD, and MN- which we should target some radio stations there to take care of. My search of Ticketmaster find only the "Guiness Oysterfest with Reverend Horton Heat" listed for City Market for 9/14. No ticket prices are listed, as this show goes on sale 9/1 at 10:00 am. I'm hoping for confirmation that this is the same show at which Poe will perform PRIOR to tickets going on sale. For those of you unfamiliar with the Reverend, they are a local Dallas band with a rep for always giving the crowd a good time, and I think they would be the perfect, whacked out compliment for our Poe :-) Any additional information will be appreciated! - -brendles- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2001 19:27:51 -0500 From: Tony Cusumano Subject: Re: Poe in KC 9/14 POE is scheduled to play at that same concert.
