Well the Great Guy I mentioned above.. he had Thursday July 19th off and KTCL here in Denver held a call in contest to the first 5 callers after they played "Hey Pretty" to join them at the Radio Station to watch Poe and Mark and their DJ record some songs. Well I asked that Great Guy, named Jeff to call in for us and he probably was the first caller,, anyway I got to watch Poe and Mark record "Hey Pretty" and "Wild" then we got to get autographs and talk and take pictures, etc... They are the Coolest Artists I have ever met! Everyone loved them I have some cool pictures I will have to share! Right now I am reading Mark's book! I hope that there will be some great video's and music of Poe's that I can be introduced to via the poe website, and I love reading all about everyone else's meetings with Poe and Mark! (pittsburgh especially) yoyo everyone! emme again here.. heh.. i have a few comments on the random warped postings that have been floatin around.. **i went to warped in pittsburgh.. last year i went to it in detroit. HUGE difference, i think that warped is a tour that partly depends on the venue. in detroit it was in this huge empty parking lot type area with spread out stages, vendors, everything. it was great music, moshing, people, prices, food, everything! despite getting crushed in the green day mob and losing my friends (and then walking around on someones shoulders for a hour with a sign looking for them!), i had a great time. this year, i was really disappointed in the pittsburgh show. the band lineup was awesome for my music interests, so i was really pumped. but overall i was disgusted. the people were rude and obnoxious.. i had a girl standing next to me during the good charlotte set screaming "shut the fvck up and get off the stage, put AFI on, you suck!" who was ruining my favourite song and the set for everyone around me (not to mention being rude to the band) until i not-so-kindly resorted to asking her to be quiet and keep to herself. i'll get back to that whole rudeness thing in a sec. secondly, prices went up a ton since last year, i know the tour grew,.. but i wish they wouldnt try and make more gains on something thats already great.. especially on broke teens and college kids. the venue was too crowded (should have sold out much sooner) and the place was a mess. i go to a ton of concerts and i love the crowds, the people, the rush of being in the middle of so much energy, but it was sick. it was too long.. i went wanting to see esham and sum 41 who didnt play till after dinner time.. and left early (no re-entry) because i coudlnt take it anymore. there was no where to sit, and there was a thick sludge running all over the ground of the entire place. gross.. i enjoyed the bands i saw.. but overall i give it a thumbs down for the pittsburgh show this year, i was disappointed.. especially with the dent in the small amount of cash i have and worked hard for over the summer **secondly.. as with anything else, i think the comments about being sexist or "Fake" punk are too much... i agree with i think it was bridget who said people need to kick back and relax a little on this list. i'm a strongly opinionated person, but over time i've learned to hold respect for lots of stuff i dont like or agree with. if you think it was fake punk, then fine.. but please dont lash out and share it aggressively with a huge group of happy people... its rude, inconsiderate, etc... maybe some of it wasnt punk, but its not the end of the world. even if you dont like it, neo-punk has formed itself into its own genre too.. musically worthy of respect. **and really on the sexist issue.. just my personal opinion to add to the stack. i dont think that the tour is sexist or anything.. just not as many female punk bands around -now-.. they used to be rampant, now its harder to find big ones so as result, they arent on the tour. on that note, i saw save ferris last year and have the utmost respect for monique, she doesnt let it bug her to tour with guys.. and doesnt act like the tour is sexist at all .. and is an overall awesome person to be headlining as a chick (my dad got to meet her in a coffee shop after her set and testifies to her great personality).. anyways.. sorry that was so long guys.. and those of you who read up to here, WOW, you rock my world. i just dont write to the list much, and though i feel kinda bad this post wasnt about poe.. it may be of interest to others and why not join in the NPR fun every once in awhile? it's great debate and stimulation when i have the time... just a few thoughts to marinate in, hope i didnt seem harsh.. hehe.. i jus wanna be a rock star.. *~*emme*~* ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V6 #349 ***********************************
