(ANOTHER DAN ROCKS MOMENT....) The only problem that I see, and it has been mentioned before, is that the WCAP is more then a region or a district. It is flat out huge and more territory to be honest then one person our a small "cabinet" so to speak could really cover. I think that California could be one region. They are after all extremely large and very very busy with concerts that happen all over the place. Then the Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho et al) could be another. The Northwest has about as many concerts as California does all together. Either way, we really need to get some action going out of all this talk. POE is going to be getting ready for a tour here really really soon if we are all lucky and we should really be organized and ready this time. Now for the Northwest I volunteer myself for any technical stuff that needs to be done, I have all equipment nessecary, and I can help with corrdinating and planning. I hate to volunteer other people before asking, but Melissa here in Portland has said she would help to and I am pretty sure she could put together some awesome ideas for coordination too. Plus we have Dan is Washington not that far away. So I guess out of this, I am calling on Dan and Jarrod for an opinion here concerning a Northwest idea for the AP's. If it sounds good and all, then Melissa, Dan, and I could get together and make it happen and then possibly share our ideas for here tour here, with other regions. Lets make this the best tour and most organized AP happening ever! POE and the support of POE is our ultimate goal and this can only make it better!! Thoughts anyone? My email is always open. I just wanted to type and say "hi" since I just FINALLY subscribed today. My name is Adam Robinson. I live in Portland ORegon, and I'm a 31 year old musician, drumming for 3 bands and singing for 1. I'm also vegan. I first heard Poe (Trigger Happy Jack) on KNRK back when "Hello" was released. I loved the song so much that I located "Hello" and a CD-single of "Trigger Happy Jack (Drive By A Go-Go)". I've been a fan ever since. You Portlanders may have seen me at the Millennium in-store appearance. I was on the left side of the stage, waiting patiently with my "Rise And Shine" CD-single to be signed. I have long, strawberry-blonde hair. I asked her how Levar was doing (assuming the worst) and she said that he is doing wonderfully! That manager was kind of grumpy, wasn't he? I'm sure he's a nice guy, but... Other favorite musical artists or bands include : Angelique, Beatles, Jeff Buckley, The Cult, Enuff Z'Nuff, Faith No More/Mr. Bungle/Fantomas/Mike Patton, Kevin Gilbert, Patty Griffin, Imperial Drag, Jellyfish, King Crimson, Clint Mansell, Holly McNarland, Mother Love Bone, NIN, Pixies, Prince, Self (NOT the rap/hip-hop artist!), Swing Out Sister, Two and a lot of others I can't think of right now. I live in N E Portland with my wife Angel and our 2 cats, Martin and Sketchy. I play drums, guitar, bass, some keyboards, and sing. The drums are a 5 piece Ludwig Rocker Pro series set, in silver sparkle. I have a Kramer electric, 2 Danelectro electrics, and a Fender acoustic guitar. I have 2 solo demos up at MP3.com and my Artist Name there is spaceboi. Check 'em if U like! I would like any feedback you may offer. Portland Psychos feel free to contact me off of the list at spaceboi@msn.com I got a last minute ticket to the Depeche show, ON the day of the show!!! The people I went with were drinking too slowly so I missed out. What I did see and hear though was excellent. She's one of my very favorites. I promptly bought a non-fiction t-shirt after the set (a greenish color at the Portland show - kind of split-pea). I was ready to leave after her set, but had to stay. Come back to Portland, POE! Any further details on the Sternwheeler show yet?!? One of the bands I drum for will debut live at the Mt. Tabor toward the latter part of August. Watch the listings for souls of sophie. I'd love to see some Psychos at the show! It will be 21 and over, so please be warned. Please forgive the plug, I won't do it again. I think her website is www.MelissaFerrick.com and her shows are like...ten bucks....she's one of the best performers I've ever seen live. I'd love to see her and Poe play together. Jen I agree with you. Melissa Ferrick is the most amazing artist I have ever seen live. Her shows are very affordable and range from $7-$ 15 usually.. You will have a better time seeing her for this amount of $ than seeing any big tour of the summer for over $40. She puts so much emotion into her music and is great with her fans. If you want to check out some of her songs go to www.cdbaby.com and you can hear some clips off of her cds. Her website is www.melissaferrick.com and there you can check out her tour dates and read her tour journal there, as well as purchase cds. Check her out shes a great artist/performer ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Aug 2001 15:11:58 -0600 From: "Lawrence J Kim" Subject: NPR: Re: Poe's vocals for Conjure One (Delerium) > Poem is a bit more poppy. For fans of delerium, check out BALLIGOMINO... > awesome! im into the singer Kristy Thirsk who sang for Delerium (and the band > ROSE CHRONICLES), and who also sings for Balligomino sometimes. Seb is the man. Kristy Thirsk has THE most beautiful, angelic voice I have heard in ages (Beverly Staunton, also featured on Balligomingo, is a close second). Go to www.balligomingo.com and download the mp3's. Warning, might need a rather fast connection, because the intro page takes a while to download. If anyone has some server space, I would mind posting some Delerium and Rose Chronicle mp3's for all to enjoy. She's a really big bitch in person tho, which is why she can't get a record deal up in TO. I got all the Rose Chronicles and Balligomingo stuff. I also got some live thirsk and Delerium if anyone wants any copies. I'd be more than happy to do some 2:1s. I have this awesome CD called "AN INTRODUCTION TO...KRISTY THIRSK AND BALLIGOMINO". Its the full Balligomingo CD and a TON of Thirsk stuff (3 solo songs, 3 Delerium Songs, 2 live...) So if anyone wants an introduction to the ethereal dreamy supple scene up in the great white north, drop me a line. oh yes, www.kristythirsk.org should be back up soon. She's work with SO many people... i love her cover of HEART OF GLASS with mystery machine. peace, seb :) In a message dated 8/12/01 5:14:07 AM, lawrencejkim_ap@hotmail.com writes: << Go to www.balligomingo.com and download the mp3's. My name is William. I'm an artist from New Orleans and I herd Poe for the first time at a club, The Blue Crystal and I immediately fell in love. Some of my favorite musicians inclued Bill Leeb, Edward K Spell, PJ Harvey and John Coletrain. I just saw Poe live for the first time last night at the Mode show in Phoenix and she was excellent! But the best part of the show was bumping into Poe's #1 fan's in Phoenix, Jarrad and Amy, who recruted me into the club. Thanx for the great seats guys. You're the greatest! Last night I took my best friend to see Sade in concert in New Jersey. My friend is a HUGE Sade fan. So last night was the perfect birthday present. If any of you ever have seen Sade Live then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when I say that her performance was excellent. Sade really knows how to give a performance. I really enjoyed myself as well as my friend. Are there any Sade fans out there among you Psychos? Here's a question for you then: My friend heard that there are unreleased songs that Sade sometimes performs.I was wondering if any of you may have them? I have an unreleased Dave Matthews Cd called the Lillywhite sessions and would be happy to exchangea copy for the unreleased Sade Songs. Or does anyone know where I may be able to find them? I am really hoping to get these for my friend. She basically has everything else under the sun that has an inkling to do with Sade. I'd really like to find these for her. Please let me know if you can help me with this request.
