Sadly, we did not get to view Beta Band because they got stuck in the UK, so they put a DJ on stage instead. I believe it was DJ ANdrea and she was pretty damn good actually (she mixed with a few depeche mode songs). Anyway, i managed to snap some amazing pictures from that show, especially of Jonny playing the piano oh so passionatly during karma police and that old french instrument/box thing they use during idioteque. Thom's performance is really making a break through these days--he is becoming a lot more crowd oriented and definitely more enthusiastic about being on stage (and of course he did his "bobbing head" trademark during a few songs). Colin kicked asss on the cello, and after seeing that concert, he really proved to be somewhat of the backbone in radiohead. damn!! they were all amazing in all they do and seeing them live was a distinct experience i hope to do again sometime. Although, the 2hr concert itself was not the only amazing part about the trip. like all good little devoted fans, my friends and i went around back of the pavilion to see if we could sneak a glimpse of the band getting on the bus. and this was where the memories began. anyway, we traveled on back around this pavilion, where they must have had some kind of sewage leak b/c the stench was absolutely horrid. PLus, the trash dumpsters left a nice touch. So, here we are with about 20-30 other people looking at this tour bus (about 20yds away) when these bike cops and Centaurs (we jokingly nicknamed cops on horses this) started telling everyone to clear out, and one Centaur literally began making its horse's hooves kick people out of the way. SO to keep from getting escorted back to our cars, we ran and hid in the trees behind one stinky dumpster surrounding the parking lots beside us. well, we thought we had it made in our smelly, dumpster fortress when one centaur thought she spotted us through the other side of the trees. so we ran from side to side of the dumpster attempting to disguise ourselves; however, after a couple of minutes of hearing "cla-clunk cla-clunck" from the horse and this one butch, lady cop getting very aggrivated because she couldnt tell if anyone was there, my friends and i began to realize what we were doing and blew our cover by busting out laughing as hard as we all could. well she spotted us and we frankly got tired of waiting and didnt want to give anyone more shit than we already had, so started walking back to our cars. ON our way back, we suddenly heard the tour bus start up, we all looked back and it surely was moving, so we bolted like 12yr old girls after N'SYNC. My friend stacy and i were the first 2 people at the first intersection at which they stopped and standing in the middle of the front window was Thom, pointing at us screaming "fuck yeah" and other various, im sure stupid phrases. then the bus pulled up and we were side by side the bus, and this time looking out at us was Jonny. he was ducked down in the corner of a window with a beer in his hand and giving a very shy wave. of course we were still screaming and taking pictures, along with the other 15 people who had caught up to us, when i yelled at jonny right before stacy and i blew him a kiss. which he pretended to catch and blew us one back. IT was pretty bad ass if i must say so myself and just thought some of you could appreciate a personal piece of concert memorabilia. All in all, if you do enjoy radiohead the tiniest bit, GO AND SEE THEM IN CONCERT. i really dont think you would be disappointed. amazing band which produces amazing live music. ~Lee _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V6 #343 ***********************************
