You are different in the sense that you admit to making a mistake, but funny you are still the only one. There were many shirts handed out, where is everyone else? The saints here are the people that have offered to send money to Julie for her efforts, without expecting anything in return. I do know how much Julie appreciates everyones offer, I too made such an offer to Julie directly, to cover all her expenses directly, but she declined to accept my help. Julie [the true saint here] elected instead to pick herself up and carry on, accepting whatever penalty for her faith in others. This is the part of your message that disturbs me the most. I can say for a fact that all the problems we have been having along the way with setting up events with Poe HAVE NOT BEEN DAN'S FAULT. Dan has gone out of his way to try and make things work, and the people at Atlantic and Nettwerk have let us down repeatedly. This has all been corrected now I hope as it seems that true AP events will be happening for the remainder of this Tour. Take it from someone who drove over 4000 miles to various shows and was never able to meet with Poe, even though I was in contact with her people on the road all along the way. >Fourth, I'm just curious just how wonderful you all are.Traci, how many of >your CD's got replaced? Um, where is my POE tag >I paid for over a month ago? Many people say things to look good, but never perform the action they talk about. It really is too bad that we as a group don't do the good things that we say more often. Don't let these people make you loose your faith in people. Some of those people did help out along the way. The others will eventually show up as fakes and will get what they deserve. As for that other person never being helped, I don't know about that. I'm sure people offered to help out, even if it was in private. Not everything we do for each other is done openly on this list. And if you haven't noticed there is a difference between Julie's situation and these that had their CD's stolen. The stolen CD's were not preventable. Although still worthy of our help, we tend to not feel personally responsible for it. On the other hand the shirt problem should never have happened, it is other members of our community that have done this to another member of our community. When that happens many of us tend to feel responsible, and want to make it right. I hope the others that owe money read this and send their money right away. A public appology isn't required, but I think it's the least you can do under the circumstances. That is totally uncalled for and I wouldn't want that done to me. I guess I broke one of the very codes of being an AP myself. Perhaps I should practice what I preach. It's just that some people ruin it for the rest and because of that everyone has to suffer. If you, personally, have kept your end of the deal with Julie then that's great. I have no problem. I see that as an example for the rest of those who haven't. For the record my last e-mail was directed to those who blatantly didn't care about paying Julie for her time and effort. That is a sin. It's a shame that this situation is tearing us apart as a group but it really shouldn't have happened in the first place. Instead of pointing fingers and placing the blame let's all focus on Julie instead and trying to help her out. We should pull together in TRUE AP fashion and really make an effort to right this wrong. So why don't we start by doing that instead of taking it out on others? However in that extra 2:13 of album space there are two extra >songs, the last of which is "Daydream". So I check tracklists on the >internet and there appears to be two versions of Gish. One ends with the >song Tristessa and the other ends with Daydream. So great, I got two extra >songs, but how the hell do I get those two extra songs onto CD? You see if I >use the diskwriter plugin for Winamp it only writes the first 46:20! No >errors, even though Winamp reports a track length of 48:33 and will audibly >play every bit of it. As stated before, Nero will only recognize the first >46:20. If I load it into Goldwave (the audio app I use to clip, convert, and >record audio) it reports that Goldwave all of a sudden lacks a MP3 >decompressor or encoder even though any other MP3 loaded into Goldwave works >just fine.
