Buck up and PAY! Date: Thu, 2 Aug 2001 11:40:54 EDT From: Peaceofpiedesign@aol.com Subject: That BITES! Sorry, T-shirts no longer available Hi AP's! I just wanted to thank everyone who has ordered t-shirts, it's been real. However, I suppose in an effort to prove I am a big idiot, I made a big mistake with the R&R Hall of Fame show. I sent shirts on the "honor" system in an effort to provide the AP's with a last-chance effort to have an Angry Psycho T for the show, without burdening the person who offered to distribute them with having to deal with collecting funds at the show. I figured if I got paid for even half of them, I could keep my losses to a minimum, and that seemed a small price to pay to help out the AP's. Well, I got paid for ONE. One person sent payment. I can't even get the extras sent back to me. Paid orders I sent never made it to their rightful owners. I am simply crushed, and realize now what a stupid move it was on my part. I spent my 4th of July holiday in a print shop, sweating my ass off in 100 degree + temps, to make damn sure the shirts made it to Cleveland on time. I am certainly not shopping for sympathy, but I have no choice but to cut my losses and get the hell out while I still have an office. You know, thinking about it now, I realize it's not even the money as much as it is the fact that I was burned by AP's. That really bites. I LOVE POE. I LOVE being an AP ... but it has become way to painful to be the t-shirt psycho. screw it. If you have paid for an order, but have not received it, please let me know, and I'll update you on order status. Don't worry, if you have paid for a shirt, you will get it. If you haven't sent payment for an order, DON'T. I am pulling the ordering site today, and no more orders will be available. There are a few people who have shirts on backorder, I will print those and send them in the next couple of weeks.ATTN: List rule monitors: I apologize for the lack of NPR, but I didn't want this message to get filtered, as I was concerned that though it isn't directly Poe related, it is possible you may have ordered a shirt you have yet to receive.so long.Julie _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 3 Aug 2001 05:22:01 EDT From: Prozackitty16@aol.com Subject: Re: San Diego show....(meeting?) I really appreciate your offers, but it's really not necessary. Simply knowing that you guys are willing to pay to keep the program running is thanks enough for me. I was so frustrated and discouraged by this whole mess, but all the support I have been receiving from the AP's has renewed my faith in our "cause." It seems a terrible crime that the entire AP community should lose because of the faults of a few %$&*#$* folks. I was pissed, and I unleashed my anger on the entire list. I'm not sure why I let it get to me like I did, but I suppose it's that I've seen so much love here among people who, in most cases, have absolutely nothing in common besides POE. It's a trip, but it feels a bit like family, and I'm proud to be a member. As I have said to the AP's who have written to show their support: I'll take some time off this project, regroup and maybe even offer a new design for the headlining tour. I have realized it's a bit hard to get the black shirts signed, so with that in mind, I will look into offering a design on white, made expressly for Poe's sharpie =) When she actually embarks on her headlining tour, I WILL be there, in line with my fellow AP's, sharpie in hand! Despite the recent downfalls, it has been really cool being so involved with the AP's. There were alot of people on the list who did pay, and who were absolute dolls about the whole thing. It was really great hearing from all of you when you received your shirts, it made the hard work seem like a walk in the park! Meanwhile, I've learned my lesson about payment, and I won't let this won't happen again. Moral of the story: Don't lose faith, but don't let your guard down either. POE RULES! Tina L., Are you going to the show for sure? If you are, I could probably give you a ride. I just have to check with my boyfriend and make sure he's not offering rides to others without me knowing :) Anyways, as for a meetup beforehand: I'm game for just about anywhere, but my brain is morning mush right now, so I can't think of anywhere in particular. AllI know is that I want to get to the concert early to buy a shirt, cuz I heard the "pretty" colored ones sell out really fast. I also heard that POE has been starting her set around 7:30....so I don't want to miss anything. ~Shelley >From: Lok Tina >To: Xomeon@aol.com, angry-psychos@smoe.org >Subject: Re: San Diego show....(meeting?) >Date: Fri, 3 Aug 2001 01:09:51 -0700 (PDT) > > >Hey. I don't even know where to begin!!!! I have not talked to Becky since the show, I will call her and find out where the rest of the shirts are and make sure you get them back. I would like a list of everyone who stiffed you, I can assure you they will be banned from any meet and greets, passes or lists I am involved with until they pay ME back! I told you over the phone I would be responsible if anything happened and I stand by that, you went the extra mile. I hate to think that this happened!!! Please call me and I will reimburse you for your loss and I will do everything I can to get my money back from these deadbeats! To you on the list that owe Julie money: I am serious, Poe has some GREAT stuff in mind for the solo tour and I can assure you that you will NOT be part of it if I have anything to do with it unless you pay up! This is a fellow psycho and she is not making money off this and she should NOT have to loose any!! As a result I decided to download the album. The MP3, a single file encompassing the whole album, seems really weird. If I load it into Nero, I get a message that the file appears to be damaged but it is not critical in that it still loads 46:20 of the 48:33 of the CD. The really strange part is that Winamp reports the track length as 48:33 and will play all 48:33 of it even though the progress bar has laready hit the far right point. And lo and behold the 46:20 mark is exactly where a song ends, the one where he ends by saying "I've gone insane, I'm gone.." It seems like my old Gish ended with this song. However in that extra 2:13 of album space there are two extra songs, the last of which is "Daydream". So I check tracklists on the internet and there appears to be two versions of Gish. One ends with the song Tristessa and the other ends with Daydream. So great, I got two extra songs, but how the hell do I get those two extra songs onto CD? You see if I use the diskwriter plugin for Winamp it only writes the first 46:20! No errors, even though Winamp reports a track length of 48:33 and will audibly play every bit of it. As stated before, Nero will only recognize the first 46:20. If I load it into Goldwave (the audio app I use to clip, convert, and record audio) it reports that Goldwave all of a sudden lacks a MP3 decompressor or encoder even though any other MP3 loaded into Goldwave works just fine. Any Help? :) "Communication is not just words, Communication is Architecture" _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V6 #334 ***********************************
