I think it's fabulous music. Their feeling for melody is exquisite. I haven't the slightest idea what the meaning of the song is yet, as I don't understand much of the lyrics, but the music is brilliant. For the people who don't like it: what could you possibly be comparing it to? Nevermind? Rubber Soul? Please don't say 'Poe' cause feelings could get hurt. The tiny clips I've heard have convinced me already that there is not one album released so far this year that I would consider better music. You wanna argue that? Most of my friends (and myself) of that persuasion (constant wearing of black and rabid DM fans) were either just as happy as I was to see Poe, and if they weren't a fan, they are now! :) Maybe it was the GA heat or the rain that kept all the goth DM fans away (wouldn't want the make up to run...then again...) but I didn't see an over abundance of them there. I'll spare you guys the DM part of the review, but here is my blurb about Poe's appearance. It, much like her set, is entirely too short, but perfect for the moment... "The concert last night was extraordinary! Poe opened the night with a short, but amazingly powerful set, growling, stomping, running through the crowds...she reminded me why I want to be a rock star, why I want the shouting and the sweating, and the energy of the crowd, why I want the nightly walk on the stage. The weather could not have been better for her set, the wind was blowing, lightning was illuminating the skies over the pavilion, the cool breeze lifting the heat and humidity. For a moment I stopped lip-synching along and just laid back in the grass and enjoyed the moment." - -Jenn www.mindspring.com/~jecks ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Aug 2001 09:03:16 -0400 From: jecks@mindspring.com Subject: new psycho on the list (1) Who you are? I am an avid concert goer, although I am only a teen, I have been to about 100 shows or more. I am obsessed with the Japanese culture, I was an exchange student, but only for a 3 weeks, I couldn't afford a full year. I also love to write (hence my e-mail address indieWRITER), in fact, this next year, I will be the editor-in-chief for my high schools newspaper. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Aug 2001 18:52:03 -0400 From: Ed Hunsinger Subject: RE: Dear World I'm pleased to meet you... on 7/31/01 10:39 AM, Thierry Pottier at lookfine@caramail.com wrote: > Factly, ok: what I'd need is an address which was once sent > to the list, > in december or so, someone who had a page with a lot of P(*) > E live mp3 tracks... > I had just d/l "That Day"... which I remember was part of > a 3 songs mp3... > and which is excellent... as usual with P(*)E... > but I mean, an excellent recording as well !!! > > Someone can send me this address ??? > For a poor french guy, unfortunately so far away from the P > (*)E scene... > Thanx, you're lovely > You all are lovely anyway... > Friendly > Thierry > Live Mp3s can be found at http://poe.navelsex.com I'm assuming this is the site you're talking about, as I think your Poe winamp skin is still up there.. :) Enjoy.. :) - -Ed (Divinity) ed@poe.org http://divinity.relic.net ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Aug 2001 17:26:26 -0500 From: "Randall Cordero" Subject: RV: AY TA EN PROGRAMACION !! =) -- Hey pretty is on the air in Costa Rica!!!!
