You don't want to go your whole life wondering what could have been. - ---About the whole "feeling vulnerable" thing, I found this really good passage in this Neil Gaiman story. It's a little long, but cool anyway: "Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They don't ask for it. They do something dumb one day like kiss you, or smile at you, and your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so a simple phrase like "Maybe we should just be friends" or "How perceptive" turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. Nothing should be able to do that. Especially not love. I hate love. -Rose Walker from 'The Sandman' - ---Jobe Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo! Perhaps the only benefit of touring with Mode. She looked awesome. Black stretch pants and a neon green "DRIVE" top. The band was in top form, much better than the Hall of Fame show. The set list was as follows: Terrified Heart Control Wild Hey Pretty Haunted Angry Johnny Trigger Happy Jack She came out into the crowd for "Haunted" for help singing backup. I made a sign that said "PSYCHO", and although I felt like an N*SYNC fan waving it around, it earned me the right to sing with POE! So do yourself a favor and get yourself noticed by POE, and you shall be rewarded! As for Mode, it was a great performance but the setlist does not pay homage to their glory days. Other than a souped-down version of "Black Celebration" and "Never Let Me Down Again" as the closer, everything was albums released after "Music for the Masses". It just didn't seem like a Mode show without the crowd singing along to "Everything Counts" at the end. The After-Party at C.B. and Pott's was a bit of a disappointment also. Not much of a turnout, but the place was very crowded and it was probably hard to find each other since most of us have never met before. But it was a real pleasure to meet the Psychos that I did run into (even though I felt like the newbie!). If you are going to the show, enjoy! Otherwise, take heart. Psycho Melly confirmed with POE herself that she will be doing her own tour after Mode. Cheers! Since any Oregon gathering will most likely be in Portland, let's call ourselves the PAP's! It sounds ever so disgusting, (feels it too! hehe) but it's OURS! As for the gathering, Sir Dan (the cheeky monkey who almost tossed 15 G's to e-gay for stolen goods) has been rumored to be throwing together some sort of gala/soiree/ ho-down. He won't disclose what this is, but I have heaps of confidence in this hard working lad. We'll probably be at Music Millennium (3 blocks from my new flat! yay!) for 3 or 4 hours, because Poe's too super sweet to not chat with anyone who wants to meet her (Another reason we love her!). Hey Psychos, I was thinking that the APs need an official hand sign/signal/gester or whatnot. It would be cool to have one to let POE and each othet know that we are APs. I suggest the following (and if this has been done already I apologize): Make an 'OK' with your right hand but keep your middle, ring, and pinky fingers straight. Then turn your hand away from you so your middle, ring, and pinky finger are pointing straight down with your thumb and index finger away from you. From the front it looks somewhat like the letter 'P.' Maybe if anyone is at all interested in this idea I can get a picture posted so you all can get an idea of what I am talking about.
