Ahem. Patrick Bateman would never use a tip card. Patrick Bateman would have all this information in his head, along with "how to clean white oak floors" and "which exercises are best for targeting the rear deltoids." And besides, Uhura Bisa Jones would not wear a wool plaid four-button double-breasted suit and a striped cotton shirt and a silk tie, all Armani, or black Ferragamo cap-toe shoes that look exactly like Patrick Bateman's. "American Psycho" should be required reading for anyone who wishes to call themselves an Angry Psycho. If you manage to get through the whole thing, and find yourself amazed that this book matches your thoughts so exactly, consider yourself a true AP. I bet Poe likes Bret Easton Ellis. If I see her after the show at The Gorge (the outdoor amphitheater, not to be confused with Patrick Bateman's favorite thing to do with his houseguests) I'll have to ask her. And it just occured to me - Patrick Bateman IS an Angry Psycho, so maybe Uhura IS Patrick Bateman after all! >How is Jean and Evelyn doing? As for Jean and Evelyn, I haven't heard from Jean in a while, probably something to do with my behavior in the stall at Nell's or it could be the way I hailed a cab outside Chernobyl and just left her standing there with two annoying mimes, and Evelyn has started dating some Euro-looking model named Victor War or Warble or Ward or something. I met him last week and wondered if he had any advice for cuticle restoration (or at least how to soften a hard layer of caked-on blood so the cuticles don't tear or chip while scrubbing with a fingernail brush, etc.) due to his polished nails and unnaturally-smooth knuckles but then I found out that he listened to rap music and had never owned a share of stock in his life so why bother talking to him? >Have you heard the new Genisis or seen Patty Winters lately? The new Genesis album is quite possibly the world's most perfect music. Or at least it would be if Phil Collins would get together with Peter Gabriel for a reunion tour. The Patty Winters show this morning was about female musicians who write music about their deceased relatives. I found myself strangely attracted to the concept and think the haiku form of poetry would be far more popular if people wrote about such topics. I am a walking, talking, completely untapped market of pure haiku beauty. But I agree, Uhura's advice was so detailed it was almost . . . unsettling. ;) Steve _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2001 07:49:58 EDT From: Davey08@aol.com Subject: Zampanosdead is now on WinMX!! I have to say she was WONDERFULLY TERRIFIC!! her whole set was really energetic (i really cannot agree with whoever was saying that her show lacked energy and enthusiasm) the set list was as follows: terrified heart control wild hey pretty haunted angry johnny 5 1/2 Minute Hallway Those may not be in the exact order, but it was all of the songs. GOD, she was so good oh yeah we got to meet her and mark earlier that day at wherehouse music. they are both so cool. at the moment i just really dont have adequate words to describe meeting them and the show, it was just so unbelievable. the only bad thing all day was that i didnt get to meet any angry psychos :( two girls were wearing shirts that said POE on them in magic marker and i ran up to them yelling "are you guys APS??" and they just looked at me like i was nuts. i explained what an AP was and they said Ok and walked away. turns out they had won the tickets for singing a line from hey pretty at the signing. but they didnt seem very interested in becoming AP's next time we AP's defintly have to get together. POE said that we will get some special treatment on her tour, well as much as she can give. looking foward to seeing her again!!! oh yeah, i was the chick in the kitty ears going crazy up at the front of the show. i was with two guys and me and one of them had homemade POE shirts on (which POE loved!) the croud was kinda blah in the beginning of the show. at first it was me and my friends standing up dancing and then a couple of chics in the pit were dancing too. there was also one other guy in the center really getting into it also. but by the end of the show, well after poe did haunted lots of people were standing up. she ran out to the lawn to get ppl to sing the ba da pa pa's and that really got ppl going. her stupid stage manager was running after her like an idiot when she ran out there and that was really amusing. he was such a jerk at the signing. well, i guess that is all i have to say about the show for now. it was sooo good!! i suggest anyone who hasnt bought tickets yet and still can--GO GO if some of this doesnt make sense it is b/c i am still really wired from the show and am just typing what comes to my mind, so it may be kinda scattered. toodles tara p.s. i have pics from the signing of poe and mark. we couldnt bring cameras inside of the venue so i dont have any from the actual show. but if anyone wants a copy email me privatly and i will hook ya up. - This email has been sent using TurtleMail - Get your free email address from www.purpleturtle.com now! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2001 12:17:17 EDT From: Lilieofpeace@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR: waitressing I always leave a tip the doubles the tax on the bill which ends up to be 14-16% depending on what county i'm in. i always thought that was the rule when leaveing a tip-- just double the tax... it's easier math anyhow. of course if there is no tax... i don't know-- i live in New York so i get taxed on everything... are there places that don't tax prepared food? well if not i guess my little trick won't work... damn :) just my input. There was a certain cartoon, very Japanese-oriented, which aired at the end of one episode, of which I'm trying to find a title for, and in turn, find on tape or whatever. Essentially, it contained a race, set in the near future, where one man, who "couldn't die", was their champion. He had some sort of mental power, or major will to win, which made him win, even after death. Any clue at all, or if this sounds familiar, and want more details, let me know. I'd appreciate it. adam - --- KrodKnid@aol.com wrote: > > In a message dated 7/15/2001 4:54:11 PM Eastern > Daylight Time, > red_halcyon@hotmail.com writes: > > > > And not anime, but very cool nevertheless, is Aeon > Flux, which I've just > > discovered -- don't ask how or why! ;) Extremely > surreal and sexy, to > > paraphrase the back of the compilation DVD. > > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > > I loved Aeon Flux back when they used to run it on > MTV (and when I used to > > actually watch MTV). It had a nice run at the artsy "Little Theatre" here in Rochester. Hey the boy went to school to learn to make movies, and did a good job on it, and you may hear more about it, but not now. Thing is, he also fronts a band called "Burning Snella" http://burningsnella.com Now I'm sure we have well over 100 local bands, http://www.onechord.com/ but Tim caught the attention of WBER when he donated $3,500 in movie money to the station for a new transmitter. So the guy does some interviews in the studio, and you find out hey he is one of those pretty cool likeable people,. It also comes out in his music. If this strikes a chord with you check out their sound samples http://www.burningsnella.com/bslisten.htm Among other things Burning Snella, is the people, the places and life that allows Timmy Beideck to create music. "We're all in this together," he gathers, and the name signifies that. "We all need each other. Writing songs is no different than living your life. Everybody and everything matters. We all help each other. I try to see myself as part of the whole. For me, the name "Burning Snella" reminds me of everything that lends a hand into this music. We're all here together... helping each other along the way." The album title: HERE WE ARE represents the notion that we are all here now. Everyone of us, here together in one time at one place... Fast forward two years to the present. Well, Friday the 13th, and I went to one of the most enjoyable music events ever, a CD release party for "Burning Snella" . It was a night dominated by local bands, on the stage, but also in the audience, as many showed up to pay their props. Four great local bands took to the stage that night, along with a couple of very wild ladies. The event was held during the WBER club nite. I caught quite a bit of it on digital. If you are a fan of WBER, new music, or would enjoy a look at definite piece of Americana stop by my WBER club on yahoo http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/wber905 and check out the images. but be SURE to give Burnng Snella your ears for a few minutes http://www.burningsnella.com/bslisten.htm Thanks sp00k etc ...
