Goodluck!!! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jun 2001 02:08:37 -0700 (PDT) From: D G Subject: July 28th MSG concert The evening was frustrating in the beginning because I was really psyched to have won the soundcheck contest but when i arrived at the appointed time/place nobody knew anything about a contest. They let us stand there for 2 and a half hours and eventually we managed to get a number for a production company and were told it was cancelled- unlike the people the night before we didn't get backstage or anything. The whole contest/soundcheck thing was just... WRONG... yada... Anyway, Poe was absolutely amazing! Her voice was in top form. She has unbelievable energy and during Haunted she went into the crowd and ran all the way to the back of the floor section (at least a hundred rows i would guess), stopping to dance with people (and do some "ba da ba ba"s along the way). Although the crowd was sparse, even the mainly DM fans got into her set at that point. Hey Pretty was really well done (Mark had some funky pants? on and did a great job as usual) and Angry Johnny rocked. I was really just in awe of how beautiful and talented she is, so it is hard to remember specifics (the fact that it is nearly 5 AM doesn't help either). She did really cool hair flips at one point (during angry johnny I think). Five and a half minute hallway was in there somewhere- last I think- and at some point she took a drum stick and was playing on a cymbal, and threw the drumstick into the crowd. When she is really into the song she has this unique kind of dance that she does- like interpretive dance, as someone pointed out. Not much of a review, but the bottom line is it was an incredible show!!! The closing band I did not care for. They are not very musically creative but they get the crowd going with simple, catchy lyrics, rhythms, and "hooks." Something about "personal pan pizza..." The lighting and effects were pretty cool, and the closing band made the absolutely gorgeous blonde next to us get up and shake her body around for two hours, for which I was grateful (and which drew much more of my attention than the closing band). Not to offend DM fans, but Poe is much more talented and should have gotten more than 45 minutes of stage time. The end. Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! Can you help me beat my local stations into submission? Here in lovely New England, it seems alternative stations do not consider Poe to be "commercial" enough (what an oxymoron). Please help me train these hand-fed by record label monkeys into understanding what has sold to all of us. Starting July 2, 2001 (the day after the local show)please request via a listed e-mail or phone number at our local stations to get Poe back on the play lists! The stations are: In Vermont/Upsate NY- WEQX 102.7 (they have been kinder than most with airplay and they are live on the net), request either "Walk the Walk" or "Hey Pretty" via their website:www.weqx.com/equest OR call them at 802-362-1027. In Mass, Maine, NH, & RI- WFNX network, request "Hey pretty" and ask why other songs are not played. Give them your opinion of Poe etc. Phone: 877- fnx-radio (877- 369-7234) via e-mail: fnxradio@fnxradio.com In Boston:WBCN 104.7 best to just e-mail these guys (they never pick up their phone) via the website: http://www.wbcn.com/live/ OR if you want to try: 617-536- 8000. In Portland, Maine: WCYY 94.3. They just need guidance to play Poe more often wcyy@wcyy.com OR 207.792.WCYY Perhaps this will get the juices flowing in the area! Last night I stayed late at work. Well I got back to the train station in Jersey about 10:50pm. As I unlocked my driver's side door I realized that on my passenger seat there was something that looked liked shredded paper or something so (as I always do) I tossed my bag and walkman onto the passenger seat only to find out that what I thought was shredded paper was in fact shatterred glass. Broken glass all over my seat and floor. I then looked up and noticed that my passenger side window was broken. Then I noticed that my cd car stereo was missing and all that was left was wires hanging out and my dashboard was all messed up and damaged. It was then that it dawned on me that someone had broken into my Blazer and stole my radio. Then I checked the backseat for my cd book(It's a book that holds 208 cds and mine was completely filled) It too was gone. They had broken my window, stole my radio and all 208 cds. They even took my POE cds!!!! I immediately got out of the blazer making sure not to disturb or touch anything and proceeded to call 911 from my cell phone. After about 10-14 rings I told the man that I wanted to report a break-In. I answered a few of his questions and he transferred me to an Officer from the township I was in and I talked to him and told him where I was and stufff. He said he was dispatching a patrolman to come out to me. - -----An HOUR AND A HALF later the patrolman FINALLY shows up. Apparetnly they were so busy it took them that long to get to me. AN hour and a half later! God forbid I was hurt or injuredI would've been good as dead. Anyway they filed a report. There have been a few breakins at the train station. Ironically enough, it's the nicest and safest station too. More than likely I will never see any of my belongings again. What's most upsetting to me is that my cds meant a lot to me and it's going to take a long time to replace them and some of them can never be replaced. Some of those cds were gifts to me and are sentimental to me. Not to mention the fact that it's quite an investment...208 x $15 per cd = a lot of money. Plus I only have Liability insurance so I have to replace the window out of my own pocket. I'm feeling so depressed. I guess because I'm still in shock and not that it's that big of a deal but more than anything I feel violated and in a sense raped. This whole situation has taught me that Happiness is like a drug. After a while, you feel invincible. When you least expect it too, you suddenly realize that you are not invincible and can be stripped of your belongings and self. I feel like a part of me was taken and in a sense it was. I'm grateful that's all they took but nevertheless even something small like that is enough to get my head out of the clouds of happiness and back to Earth and reality. It really has shook me up....Sigh...I don't know what I'm going to do... Actually I have to go out and buy a new HOL book(the one I was reading got ripped and scratched by the thiefs last night)The Philly POE signing is tomorrow along with the concert and now I have to go out and buy POE's cds again so she can autograph them and I hope her brother will be there to sign my book too. Well I must go now. I just needed to tell you how I was feeling. This really is bothering me...Talk to you soon. Right now I am compiling a list of all of the codes in the book (yes, I know it will take some time) but after that I am going to post it on my web page for my church, but you can only get there through a direct link I give, and warning, when this is finished, its going to giva away big mysteries of the book, so if you still want to remain surprised and proud of yourself later, then DON'T GO THERE. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jun 2001 20:26:12 EDT From: Iamtheher4u@aol.com Subject: Yesterday was Poe day OK yesterday was officially my Poe day. I was sitting around my house flipping channels when what horrible channel that i despise and hate do i stop on??? MTV playing a comercial for the Spyder Games soundtrack and it so only mentioned Poe and Hey Pretty was playing through the entire commercial. After I freaked about that I was listening to the radio in my room and BAM Hey Pretty comes on... and not the Drive By Remix either. So after screaming and jumping around my room, I called my friend and went over to her house, when who should I hear in the car on a different station??? POE!!! This time it was the Drive By Remix... yeah... it was a great day. Go to www.P-O-E.com and enter by clicking the poe ball (you need flash 5.0). then another screen will pop up and another poe ball will appear (bouncing). You use the poe ball to navigate through any of the six windows that appear...the message board is the bottom center window. Definitely check it out...there are lots of posts that back-up and/or give additional info to messages that come through the AP mailing list (and be sure to listen to the "Echoes from Poe" on the home page). However, for the past 24 hours I keep getting a message saying the page is not available...grrrrrrrrr!!! - -brendles- ----- Original Message ----- From: Litesneeze@aol.com To: BRENDLES@prodigy.net ; angry-psychos@smoe.org Sent: Friday, June 29, 2001 7:33 PM Subject: Re: Poe.com message board At the cost of sounding completely stupid... there's a BB??? FOR SALE: Sec. 3, Row U, Seat 24 for Boston Mass show this Sunday!!!! I recently upgraded my seat for the 7/1 Boston show... Because of this, I'm willing (and hoping) to part with the original seat I had... I got it within five minutes of tickets going on sale the day prior to the show being made available to the public (it was a special Depeche Mode presale I signed up for)... ANYWAY, since the show is in two days and there's no mail on Sunday, I would be willing to meet up in person to get it to whoever wants it... I'm not asking scalper prices (I paid A LOT for the ticket I have now), I just want to make a LITTLE money back (no extra than what I paid) and get another AP closer to Poe... My friend MIGHT still have her seat (I know she was trying to sell hers, which is two seats from my original one when she got her scalped one) so if you're looking to get two I MIGHT be able to get hers for you as well... It's within the first 1/4 of the venue... http://www.tweetercenter.com/boston/images/gwmap2.gif This is a picture from Section 3 http://www.tweetercenter.com/boston/gwsec3.asp If you are interested in this ticket (again, Sec. 3, Row U, Seat 24) drop me an e-mail or instant message me ASAP at pigmailzx@aol.com Hope to hear from you soon!
