About the only way to get your hands on copies of these songs are to get a hold of the Tape Tree tapes that that went around the list back in 97. I have a habit of thinking other people can read my mind! :) Anyway, what I meant to post yesterday is that I am willing to organize a group tour of the Hall of Fame *before* the show. There is a minimum of 20 people for the discounted group admission rate, so we'd have to reach that first before any plans get firmed up. But, hey, I don't want to drive all the way to Cleveland and not tour the Hall of Fame (to paraphrase Mark / emeraldbay). So, if you are going to be in Cleveland for the show, and would like to go through the Hall of Fame before the show, let me know. We'll figure out the details later. As Dan has said, we get into the show for free (yea!), but I don't think that includes admission to the Hall. From what I can tell, the concerts are held in the lobby area. If anyone knows differently, please correct me if I'm wrong. :) Thanks! I have the standard number of arms, legs, fingers, toes, etc., for a 27 year-old male...which works out well, since that's what I am. I was in DC on business, and WHFS (which, blissfully, hasn't gotten sucked into the modern definition of "alternative") played "Hey Pretty", and I remembered that I'd heard Hello over at a friend's place and really liked it. So, while in DC, I bought Haunted. Then I came home and, in my obsession with Tom Waits, forgot about Haunted. I put it on again on Sunday, while doing chores, and I was amazed that I'd overlooked this disc for so long! That's my Poe history in a nutshell. Now for my question. When is Poe going to realize she's popular (and good) enough to swing a solo tour? There are still lawn seats available for the gig here in July, but I really can't afford it, and since she's merely opening for Depeche Mode (towards whom I am fairly indifferent), and the view from the lawn sucks, I'm inclined to let her pass me by this time. I also saw someone mention mirroring the navelsex site. How much drive space does this site have? I'd be willing to offer my space, but there'd be no point if you've got GB to my MB. Lemme know. (Oh, and I subscribe to digest, since this is a web-based account, so if you say something to me and I don't respond right away, don't be offended.) That is all. Carry on. I started the list a month before the tour started for a reason! If you let me know at the last minute, chances are you aren't getting in if anything "special" is planned. 2) I've turned over the responsibility of the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show to Becky Clark, who is going to handle the list for the OAPs. If you are going to the show, please email her at Snugakitn@aol.com. If you email me, again, chances are it might not get to her in time, and you might miss out on the event. 3) Despite what some people think, the list of people on houseofleaves.4t.com/house2.html is not an elite group or anything special. Anyone that emails me and wants to be added is... unless it's the day of the show and you make a ridiculous request to be added to whatever is happening then. 4) Sometime this summer, Angry-psychos.com will be updated.... She was a victim (and note that often times when a woman does leave her "asshole" husband, that's when he ends up killing her). Eminem, on the other hand, writes a song about killing his wife just because. We have to look at context. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm hardly advocating women blowing their "asshole" husbands away, or a double standard allowing women to be violent while men cannot. What I am saying is that Eminem and the Dixie Chicks, on this subject, can't be compared. These songs are about two completely different things, and I don't think gender has one thing to do with it. The Dixie Chicks were trying to write a song with a social message, and I don't think Eminem stands for anything more that shock value. For the record, I'm not dogging Eminem because I'm a seceret Dixie Chicks fan; I can't stand either of them. ~Megan does it bother anyone that the girls can sing this song, obviously involving killing, get away with it and then eminem gets in trouble for essentially the same thing? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2001 10:15:08 -0700 From: Amit Saha Subject: Re: NPR Check this band out I saw The Superjesus when they opened for Local H and was totally blown away. (Though this is not to say that I wish the end of humanity--but as we know it... maybe???) I just cannot see how we are the darlings of the Universe, especially considering how harmful we are to the speck of it that we infest. Dogs, on the other hand, are fairly harmonious with their surroundings, and, so far in their evolution, incapable of mass aggression. Also, I read HOL little Pekinese story the other night. And yes, it was more disturbing to me than, well, maybe than the house itself. So my preference is very possibly without rhyme or reason. - --Chris ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2001 14:05:15 -0400 From: "Chris Douglass" Subject: Re: STABBING WESTWARD! I saw them on Depeche Mode's Singles tour, and own one of their albums. I like them well enough, but sometimes they seem to try too hard to be cool(ly) disturbed guys... much like a lot of rock I hear (I know, this is not a new development). They're worth a shot though. - --Chris ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2001 14:18:48 EDT From: StRaNgLdLoVeSoNg@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR Check this band out Lacuna Coil...... www.lacunacoil.it ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Jun 2001 14:28:53 -0400 From: "Denise Helton" Subject: Re: KPR: Walk the Walk or Beat of my Own Drum??
