"center of the world" was directed by wayne wang ("smoke" and "blue in the face"). the sound was done at the place i am working and i'm pretty sure it did not get pulled for violence. i remember at the time we were working on it, the foley artist was "horrified" (his favorite word) at the fact that he had to make a sound for a shot where a woman sticks an ice cube up her boyfriend's ass. hmm. then there was a contraversy surrounding the advertising of the movie a month or so ago that i read about in a trade paper because it was a picture of a naked girl about to suck on a lollypop or something and in order to get a full page ad in "variety" or "hollywood reporter" or something, they had to lose the graphic altogether and just go with the tag line only. so yeah, difficult to watch? maybe but not for violence. just hard-to-see soft core porn i think. - -jen Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo! For a good movie check out "Human Traffic". It's about the most true-to-life rave movie you'll ever see and the directing is fabulous. Favorite shots include one of the camera peering through a glass table that lines are being cut on and a "sex scene" where the people discussing the past action are in the scene realtime. the commentary on the whole "rave" scene, why kids do drugs, and how we grow out of it is so right-on-the-money and enlightening to those who don't understand. The scenes involving them actually being fucked up are spot on too. Radiohead: Being a Tower Records employee I got to spend the first wee hours of this morning doling out copy after copy after copy of the new Radiohead album, "Amnesiac". As a just reward I got a free copy and I must say that if you dig Radiohead this album is a must-have. Lately bands that I truly enjoy have been depressing me with their "new" albums. Depeche Mode tops the list, Tool definitely makes the shitlist. Come on fuckheads, have some momentum with your music, don't write a whole album that mirrors your last hits. I think I may have been the first person to put Amnesiac on CDDB :), it's still not there, yet.
