IMHO, the best record of 2000 was "Haunted" by Poe... and, yes, I DO realize what OTHER record was released that year (which would be my #2). Haunted is the most incredibly emotional record I've ever heard... the journey Poe takes from start to finish to make peace with her late father is indescribable. (it's a seamless concept album of a posthumous conversation, featuring samples of her father's own voice.) hey-- all you Depeche Mode fans-- please email me if you saw Poe perform in concert, as she is the warm-up act for their current US tour. eager to know how the record translates in concert. good seats for their DC area or Philly shows are hard to come by right now (I just heard last week that she is touring with them). - --rob __________________________________________________ . It was pretty cool. Jimmy Fallon was funny, Keirsten Dunst ...well at least she showed up for her hosting gig. Before the show, they were playing videos on the main screen and they showed Poe's video!!! it was great to see her being played in an official MTV event no less. The awards themselves were ok. Save the Last Dance won alot (hmm MTV films movie up for an award, fix anyone?) Cameron Diaz acted like she was on speed or coke. The live acts were good. Though I hate Dave Matthews Band, they were ok despite major sound problems during their set. Weezer rocked the joint hard with a rendition of "hashpipe". Pink, Aguilara et al did Moulin Rougue and it was fun to watch and probably lipsunk. All in all a good night. Cheers, Kyle Spoiler ahead Full awards rundown; Best line: "Are you a pothead focker?" Depeche Mode, the Cure, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Chris Isaak, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Tom Jones, Britney Spears, Tool, Harry Connick jr, David Bowie, Weezer, Therapy?, Frank Sinatra.. you name it, I've probably got it in my cd collection.. 6) Any other interesting information you wish to share?
