The democrats would like you to believe (and live in fear) that we should kiss China's ass because not only are the Chinese a superior force, but just because it's the 'right thing to do' and try to avoid anything remotely confrontational with them. That type of policy has NEVER worked, and only makes us look weak. Bush handled the situation well, giving just enough to get the freedom of our soldiers, yet not accepting their BS politics. While democrats were lining up to apologize in the name of 'compromise' and their 'guilt politics' - how dare we think we're in the right, when everything is really just shades of grey, and everyone is right, after all- Bush stood his ground and accomplished what needed to be accomplished.... he got the freedom of the US prisoners. I arrived at this figure by using a news release dated 4/20 2000 (hey he said 420!!) citing an increase of us prison population of 140,000 expected over the next year, simple math and using the widely accepted estimate of 6 in 10 inmates incarcerated are for drugs, we arrive at the 2640 figure over an 11 day span. The answer is, if we don't know you're coming how can we plan a party? PLEASE email me with your email address and what show(s) you will be attending, as it is important to know how many psychos will be at each show. Also, I am in the process of putting people in charge of organizing events at the venues where more than 1 or two psychos will be in attendance. I can't guarantee Poe's involvement, but in the past when she's seen a bunch of psychos gathered together, she's always found a way to make time for them. Again, if we don't know you're coming, we can't prepare... so EMAIL ME... Nothing ever changes here, yet strangely I miss you all and the comfort of knowing that none of this really matters in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy your time here. I finially made it though HOL. A House of Leaves movie would ruin it! The whole thing that made it great was that it would be the /perfect/ movie, which (now that Kubrick is dead) is impossible. Now, if someone made some faux "5 1/2 minue hallway," that would be kinda cool, but in order to capture the whole feeling for the book, many things would have to be cut out of the movie, and other stuff wouldn't be possible, despite Zampano's figure that it would cost about $6,000,000, I think it would be much more to reach the desired effect. The Lovecraftian geometry of the House would take an art director with MZD's brain in a jar in order to bring that to the silver screen. Don't even get me started on any of these directors making it possible either: Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, those guys behind Blair Witch, the Watchowski brothers, etc. Nelsewhere@aol.com wrote: > actually the title of the blair witch movie was "book of shadows" not "house > of shadows" but it would have been cool to have a "house of leaves" movie-the > book was really twisted! > nick > http://kblues.homestead.com-go now! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 20:46:42 -0700 (PDT) From: "J.R.
