I think it is possible to be too open minded. It is not good to be so open minded your brains fall out. the call to be completely non judgemental and not frame things according to our past experience or our values is wrong. It is what NAMBLA requested. they claimed that people trying to stop them were close minded. and I am completely shocked NAMBLA was a real organization. It wasn't just a south park joke. If you haven't seen the south park episode about eric's "mature friends" and you want to know what NAMBLA is there is an article that tells about this pedophile group at http://www.bol.ucla.edu/~uclacp/nambla.html these people basically claimed that "consensual" sexual relationships between Adult Men and young (even pre teen age) boys is perfectly legitimate. And that they have a right to be involved in these relationships. yes, we should hear every one out, yes we should not discriminate against people. yes, many american people are way to close minded. But don't take the other extreme. It is OK to frame things in a context that isn't completely open minded. Balance is key. you gotta be like the karate kid kicking butt with a broken foot because you have balance. yeah, that was my rant. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 May 2001 03:01:10 EDT From: Voodoo1237@aol.com Subject: new vers of hey pretty video Hey everyone I dont know if this is old news or not but this morning I saw a new version of hey pretty video on MTV. it looks just like the old one except Poe sings a lot more in it including my favorite part" non-stop". I pay $30 a month for cable modem here in ny with no AOL. My friend has a deal with AOL, to get DSL and aol together for $40 in brooklyn ny. Which seems strange since timewarner does cable modems there, they should bundle that. So $39 for AOL dailup is too much money. Everybody i know who has aol dial up, always get disconnected and takes them a long time to log on in the first place. If they are going to raise there prices, they should fix there problems first then raise prices, since they promise they will fix there problems the last time they raise prices and they didnt. And after you have an alternate ISP connection like DSL or cable you can get AOL via the BYOA (Bring Your Own Access) plan for $9.95 per month (they figure if you aren't using them for the dial-up connection you only have to pay for half the service...this is true if you are just using another dial-up ISP like NetZero too). The BYOA prices are not increasing either:-) I used to have NetZero for free and cut my AOL bill in half that way...then NetZero wised up that hackers wrere disabling their ad banner and started shutting them down...hehehe. Luckily I had DSL by then. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 May 2001 17:40:30 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR- AOL raising prices again!
