Does anybody know who Poe is going to tour with as a band, is Mark going on the road with her? I am not sure how that will sound, in a big venue. It will be pretty cool to watch but alot of people talk and there is alot of noise when you are the opening band so people might miss alot of what he is saying. I went to the Joey Ramone thing this weekend, and they had people reading letter between bands and you couldnt hear them because of people talking it was annoying and the place only hold 3000 people. seeya neeraj ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 19:58:29 -0400 From: "sp00k@poe.org" Subject: Re: where's Poe? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "A. Olle Romo, the guy that produced "Haunted" with POE.. i found some of his other work by accident today.. seems he did the additional production and mix for amanda ghost's single "idol". this would be the "radio remix" found only on the promotional release of the single. i bought it from a seller on ebay last week. also.. the other remix on the single is the "album remix".. this is done by Lukas Burton, who has done a mix of Dido's "Here With Me" just a random thought for you to ponder... - -rusty agentorange2@mindspring.com = rusty@poe.org | http://www.rustyisdabomb.com ***************************************************************************** ********************************* Jennifer Nettles Band: http://www.jennifernettles.com | http://www.jennifernettlesband.com ***************************************************************************** ********************************* POE: "Haunted" the new album in stores now featuring the new single, "Hey Pretty". | http://www.p-o-e.com | http://www.buffybb.net/poe | ***************************************************************************** ********************************* Amanda Ghost: "Ghost Stories" album in stores now featuring the latest single, "Idol" http://www.amandaghost.net | http://amandaghost.cjb.net/ ***************************************************************************** ********************************* ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 21:31:29 -0700 (PDT) From: tearinhand Subject: the mysterious haunted i don't know if this has been talked about recently or not I found Haunted in Borders with the lovely little sticker saying that it had the Hey Pretty drive by mix on it. I think what the anti gay activists fail to realize is that > It's not something you wake up one morning and say "oh I'll try being gay > today" > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Strangely enough, I think Oscar Wilde, one of your more famous gay men, did exactly that. He was married for a number of years and just decided one day to become a homosexual (not that he might not have been attracted to men before that, but he was a fully functional heterosexual and enjoyed women). He hated the way society and herd think mentality forces acceptable roles upon people and ostracizes everyone who won't comply and reacted against it in this way as well as other highly individualistic behavior. Another well known homosexual (well, bisexual) male was Arthur Rimbaud, the great French poet...he experimented consciously and deliberately with homosexuality as an aspect of his "systematic derangement of all the senses in order to arrive at new areas of experience" when he was still a teenager. After he quit poetry at 19 he went off to Africa and became a gun-runner, among other things, and had a long term relationship with an African woman. As far as anyone knows, that was the end of his gayness. I think it was similar with Wilde, but his experiment was upon society at large and ended with his scandalous trial. I am not saying these guys didn't enjoy gay sex...just that they were both different than the natural gay male as far as sexual inclinations go. Another example is Tchaikovsky, a well know gay composer (one of THE greatest composers IMHO). I don't believe he was gay the way regular gays are though...I believe he was sexually ambivalent and had a great deal of trouble determining exactly what he wanted sexually. What he really wanted, after all, you discover by listening to much of his music (The Nutcracker is a perfect sample in this regard...Pathetique Symphony too) and studying his life a bit. He really wanted to be them all...the mommy, the daddy, the children (both sexes) the royalty, the peasants...all of them. He wanted to experience everything and have it flowing through him like music. These people are odd examples...they were all geniuses for one thing, who didn't operate as normal people do...even normal gay people. I do, by the way, believe there is such a thing as a natural gay. The next time someone calls you on it and asks "If there's a natural gay, then what is the natural function, since sex is all about children and gays don't impregnate anything?" Just tell them that is precisely the natural function; to not have children! I have done a lot of ruminating on this matter, since I didn't used to believe there was such a thing as a truly "natural" gay. But now I am certain there is. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 May 2001 01:24:01 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: where's Poe?
