There was a song that was new to me at the time. I really dug it but it doesn't seem to have been released on any albums. Most of the chorus was done in a slow deliberate meter. Grammar is an INATE characteristic of humans, even though language itself is learned. The syntax that we use is a natural way to organize speech from fluid thought. I think a basic understanding of grammar is necessary, but anything else is overkill unless you are interested in leanring it. I mean, she barely sings in that version of the song, just asking if you "wanna take a ride," while the faceless Mark reads from HOL. (please don't flame me! I'm only offering an honest opinion!) It kind of irritates me that all of a sudden they're THE place to hear new poe, that she's awesome and such a fabulous musician and her brother's book is amazing. Which is great, hooray for publicity and whatnot. But this is all coming from a radio station that rarely, rarely ever played Angry Johnny after about a year after Hello came out. And as far as I know that was the only song they played off of Hello. And now they're playing Hey Pretty clips in their commercials about "edge music." And again, this is great, tons of people are hearing Poe and loving her music but I get annoyed that now the edge is claiming poe and her music as their own and as something that helps define their music after abandoning her for 3 or 4 years. Oh, well. And I missed edgefest because I was in San Francisco (which was great!) and I'm going to miss the depeche mode show because I'll be gone for 7 weeks this summer which includes the date for her show. damn. (i'm also missing warped tour, ozzfest, every other good summer show) - --Gabrielle-- Yahoo!
