It just sits there... connected to nothing! What do I do? Lead me great Krod! **************************** iMesh began to suck out loud, so I quit using it altogether. I think the root of the problem is that they keep adding spyware and advertising in an attempt to profit from iMesh, and like Napster they don't allow you to stick with an old version...you have to keep upgrading to newer versions. But the newer ones don't seem to work right. The original was great and always worked...fast downloads too. Alas, they f**ked it up like humans often do to good things. I would suggest downloading and installing both LimeWire and BearShare, which use the Gnutella network...but are both way better than Gnutella in that they do everything automatically, like Napster. You can not only find beaucoup MP3s, but application files, videos, pictures, etc. If you want one just for MP3s, maybe Newtella is your cup of tea...but it doesn't always connect as readily as LimeWire and BearShare. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 03:05:37 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: Poe: "I Can't Say No" Song In a message dated 5/8/2001 12:40:33 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Robert.A.Darke@aexp.com writes: > So how do I make gnutella work? You have to enter host info and port info and stuff like that manually to get it connected...Gnutella is a chore to use. BearShare and LimeWire, however, will have you loving that Gnutella network. They do all that crap for you automatically. I got some good MP3s from iMesh before they frigged it up...never did a porn search though. Judging from the hits (they actually show the scans and what people are looking for as well as the hits on files on your HD) you get with LimeWire and BearShare, they are both able to collect a ton of porn if that is what you are looking for:-) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 03:10:36 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: POE A WITCH?!?!? How does this relate to the star of David and the > yin/yang symbol. Or am I thinking of another symbol. I could swear though > that > the Ouroboros is the snake though... > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ouroboros is depicted as a dragon as often as a snake...one Nordic version has it as a worm. A number of the earliest ouroboros from Egypt circa 6000 years ago have a black rear portion and a white front portion...there are also pre-yin/yang ouroboros from the far east from time periods closer to ours...there is even an Aztec one. The black and white ones suggest much of the yin/yang and there is a great deal of commonality in the meanings of both ouroboros and yin/yang. The ouroboros is also the circle around a pentacle (various magic circles represent the symbol as well...like the circle of protection), with the points of the star forming degreed aspects in the circumference, like trines and squares do in a zodiac. Ouroboros figures prominently in the tree of life as depicted by ancient alchemists and others too...with three great circles representing spiritual, intellectual, and fleshly levels of human existence and with three great trines within each circle representing what tarot afficionados refer to as the "paths of the qballa"...from receptive to creative to actualized. If you take a yin/yang and study it, you realize that it is, in fact, a trinity...not a duality. The circle is oneness...the yin/yang = love/will and are a duality within the oneness...equalling three aspects of being/reality/whatever. That gives us a trine within the circle. Making 4...a square...5 a pentangle...6 two overlapping trines (star of David?), 7 a trine and a square (seven chakras), 8 two squares, 9 three trines (numerology...also one version of the tree of life...qballa), 10 eight+yin/yang, two pentangles, another version of the tree of life...other combos, 11 more combinations possible, 12 astrology and the zodiac, and on and on. If you ever see certain tantric designs which were meditated on just as "Om" functions in mantra (only visual rather that audio/tactile), this phenomenon is clearly depicted. Interpretation would have ouroboros as the oneness, with yin/yang as the duality, the great trine as the trinity...the power to manifest through creation...the "let there be light", the square as manifest material reality, the pentacle as another spirit/realm of being which is "born" of this process...the darkness, the double trine (star of David) as matter animated by the spirit of God...life as we know it...humanity with a close relationship to God...Man with creative power, and so forth untill you get all the way out to the level of complete individuality among humans, at which point there are so many aspects at the outer limit that it forms...a circle. With meditation this becomes a sort of "breathing with the universe" such as that achived by Om chanting...from the oneness to the oneness...from yin/yang through all aspects of existence to yin/yang. Some tree of life meditators have a way of folding the three great trines of self into a kind of diamond/pyramid and sort of blasting through from beginning to end...heh, heh. This whole system is not unlike the processes involved in Einsteinian physics and the making of an atom bomb. Anywhoo...I hope we don't turn this into a gigantic debate, since, as everyone knows, if you yin your yang too much you go blind and grow hair on the palms of your hands:-) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 04:09:00 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: so what's on your mind? That the cards are used for dibvination is similar to a religious practitioner seeking the advice and counsel of a priest. Alchemy has also been slammed as being all about a wacky attempt to transform lead into gold...when it is really about the transformation of a base human being into a higher spiritual form. I am a reader... just put my site up not too long ago... go check it out if you are bored :) really, I don't bite! (link is at the bottom) For centuries the strange and beautiful Tarot cards have been an endless source of mystery and facination. Used to divine the future, they have long been known and respected by the Readers. The Tarot's origins are lost in the mist of time. Authorities have attributed them to the esoteric schools of philosophy of ancient Egypt or India. They are said to have been used by Gypsies around the shores of the Mediterranean for fortune telling. This is one of several theories and still there is the Italian version which says they were discovered in the 15th century and the cards were used as a game where the trump card was used if one could not follow suit, and would "triumph" (Italian trionfi is the origin of the term "trumps"). There is one question still unanswered why? Why were they created in the first place.... well in the World of Tarot we will use them as they have for centuries and see for ourselves through the divination of the Tarot. http://celestialarcana.tripod.com/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 May 2001 05:50:11 -0700 (PDT) From: Jamie Wasserman Subject: traders? any new traders to this list? just updated my site with some new tori and poe (mostly courtesy of navelsex.com): www.skinandbones.net/bootlist.htm jamie Yahoo!
