I don't think so! I completely agree. MTV and every major news network from coast to coast seems to believe the bull shit that every one at raves does ecstacy. There was a special on around my area on the news and it said that "signs of raves" were glow sticks, pacifiers, beaded jewelry and hair dye. They actually said that kids who dye their hair with "brands like manic panic" are most likely drug users!! How much bull shit is that?? I am straight edge as hell but I dye my hair and wear beaded jewelry and listen to rock music - Oh no! I must be an addict!! What crap! That makes me so mad. It's such a streotype. - - Amber ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 21:38:19 -0400 From: "Geoff Atkins" Subject: NPR: WW1 Remy Zero Definately reccomend them. They're more of a retro-ambient-alternative. They have a new album out on Elektra this summer, plus 3 pevious on Geffen. They're different that's for sure. A good idea of their style is found on the HOB video on their site at remyzero.com. It's 49 minutes of an awesome live show. Cinjun the singer was actually married to Alyssa Milano for about a year unitl just recently. That's probably where any of you might have heard them. - --Geoff PGT2 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 21:36:59 EDT From: Dracovixen@aol.com Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V6 #142 In a message dated 4/16/01 9:13:38 PM Eastern Daylight Time, owner-angry-psychos-digest@smoe.org writes: << videogames don't affect kids. Anatomy of a rave: Darkened room, munch on pills, repetitive music... and many of them are the right age group to have played pacman as kids. Flame away people, it's just a joke anyway. Mike >> That was the point of the joke, actually. It's a joke that is common among ravers. I doubt anyone will flame you for dissecting the joke farther...you probably just made it clear to some people who didn't realize what the joke was referring to. I've only heard it twice because I honestly dont listen to the radio other than in my car.. But the two times I heard it they immediately started talking about the book...which is fabulous on one hand but it also upsets me because you can tell they were ABOUT to say something about Poe and her album-but they go into how the book is realy amazing, (no questioning that.) Anyway..I was just curious if this is the case on other radio stations... Gee, a mild euphoriant with NO hangover, toxicity (in correct doses) or other grievous effects--and all of a sudden it's a Class II scheduled daterape antichrist killer-chemical phenom --due to 2 14 year old girls being molested while under the influence, and one jackoff fratboy dying from downing 48 doses of the stuff, along WITH half a quart of grain alcohol.) Contrast that with the everyday, everywhere rotten livers, broken marriages, murders, date-rapes (just check TGIFridays at 11:15PM any Friday nite), spouse abuse, lost hangover workdays, car accidents -- all caused by those 2 cute little Anheuser Busch lizards and their evil drunk brethren.
