Ba da ba ba in the book, ba da pa pa on Haunted. It's in the press release
lyrics, which got put onto the inside liner for the Walk the Walk promo CD,
and in some online interview she was quoted as "ba da pa pa" too. I agree
with the pa pa = daddy link...my guess it's one of those ideas that Poe stole
from Mark and changed a little.
Trivia that I've been trying to fit into a post...on that same inner liner of
Walk the Walk, that picture of Poe in the field, running in that white dress,
is surrounded by the lyrics. It's cropped as a close-up, from the waist up.
Her chest is edited out. ::P

It seemed to me on first hearing that it starts out as ba da ba ba and sort

I almost forgot to mention... I finally heard Hey Pretty (Drive-By Remix) on 94.5 The Buzz. I was reading a story to my daughter while the stereo was on, and both of us screamed when we heard it. The cool thing was that the part of the book Mark was reading was what I had just finished the night before. SPOOOKY!!! :)
Also, I heard Walk the Walk in Contempo Casuals too!
So, nothing really important, just thought I'd let you guys know!!!

the fascinating thing about being a musician right now, and this should give all the college kids hope, is that this is a time where if you can't play an instrument, sing, or write anything, you can still be the biggest pop star in the world. That's quite fantastic isn't it? Everyone should leave their studies, go get a record deal and just put on some tight dresses and shake. It could be quite huge.

I believe the main issue here is t-shirt quality. I have access to
screenprinting equipment, and if we keep the design simple, and preferably
one-sided, I can print small quantities if needed to make this entire venture
a reality very quickly. It is true we can get the prints quickly from cafe
press, however, this is a transfer, not a direct screenprint. It will fade
after washing, and in some cases will peel off entirely. A direct printed
image is PERMANENT, and I will print them myself to insure they will be as
high quality as the t-shirt you bought at your last POE show ... we did all
buy t-shirts, right? hehehe (I actually bought the psycho cap, but hey, there
will be a next time)

Subject: different hey pretty mixes
Hello APs
I have a question regarding Hey Pretty. On the new release of Haunted, the
Drive-By 2001 mix is included. However, the one that i hear on the radio is
slightly different. MZD's voice isn't as electronically tweaked and there
are some different lines. For example, in the part of the song on the
Drive-By mix where he says, "She just yanked up on the emergency brake,
dropped her seat back, and told me to lie on top of her...on top of those
leather pants of hers, her hands immediately guiding mine..." Well, on the
radio version, after the bit about the leather pants, he says, "extremely
expensive leather pants, mind you" and i find that to be the best in the
song. Don't get me wrong, the whole song is excellent, but with every song,
i find some line that grabs my attention that i can look forward to.
Anyway, if someone could explain the difference and how i could get ahold of
this version, i would be greatly appreciative.

When I want the average, Joe Blow, general "any attractive single guy not
actively hunting for anyone or on the prowl, but certainly not going to pass
up a good op" point of view, I observe my brother's take on things. (Don't
ASK them their point of view.... Guide them into the subject or observe what
they do and choices they make, but never just ASK..... like you're gonna get
the real story THAY way,)..... And believe me - they don't get no more
middle-of-the-road than my brother..... I know that weight at least a
general sense of weight, (small, medium, large, etc.) is of course an issue,
but I know for certain -- men, (or any man in his right mind, the kind that
any intelligent woman on this list would be interested in,) is actually
atracted TO a woman BECAUSE she is overly thin and waifish. I mean, they do
not weave their way thru people when out and check out bods and think, "Oh
man, check out those boney arms. Ooh baby, no chest, and total absence of
hips and toothpick legs." For any woman to WORK for such a look because they
think it will make them attractive to men in simply insane. It won't. When
my little brother, (26, single, attractive, divorced, likes music, sports,
all forms of rock music, etc.) flat-out describes a girl he recently met to
me, he says something like, "She was cool. She works at a store in the
Galleria. She's divorced too, but she wants to go back to school..." and
etc. The point is, MY younger brother, who is TOTALLY open with me and says
whatever is on his mind the second it hits his mind, Mr. Maxim-readin',
club-hoppin', babe-watchin', ACTUALLY describes the female for a whole three
sentences with NON-PHYSICAL details before getting into any physical
descriptions. If he sees things like this, then geez..... there's hope for
ALL.

YUP! I monitored the station most of the day, calling in to request it about
three times. (Had to be very cautious. Could tell he was actually paying
attention, not just blowing it off.) Then finally last night after a late
night Wal-Mart shopping session, we got back in the car and it was on, about
1 am-ish. FINALLY. Solid proof that they are actually playing the song.
Now we can start to work on a strategy.
Jen, (or any other Houstonians or people that somehow listen to KTBZ 94.5

and, when there is a noticable change, the frequency played. We gotta get

Subject: NPR: the beauty rant
For those of you who are keeping up with this debate, if you dont feel like
reading a lot skip to the bottom paragraph... if you want to hear about what
I said to the baseball team, the read the first... or if you're bored, you
can read the whole thing =o}.
Alright... about this whole "pretty on the inside... looks don't matter"
crap. Speaking as a person of which many people would call the "ugly"
persuasion, so that whole guys give girls a chance if they're nice, or funny,
or some other crap like that isn't true. Take today for example. I was
sitting on the tennis courts waiting for practice to start when our wonderful
(sarcasm) baseball team walks by and starts saying crap to me like "what are
you doing why are you just laying there?" and my response was that it was too
hot and someone said "yeah but you're not" and of course me with my quick
mouth wouldn't let it go so i yelled out "yeah and all of you look like super
model material too, you better hope one of those baseballs hits you in the
face cuz you can't look any worse than you do now" and the guys who hadn't
said anything all yelled out "oooooh she busted you!!!"
But really... guys don't care about smart girls, or funny girls, or just flat
out good people. I speak as a person containing all of those qualities...
and the one boyfriend I had admitted to using me because I was ugly and he
thought I would be desperate to give it up. So I have no faith in most guys
(excluding gay ones). I know that not all guys are like that, but I've had a
pretty depressing day, so right now I'm on that train of thought that I'll
never find a guy who will like me for me, my small boobs and all.
My main point though is that guys may go out with ugly or chunky girls but if
they really had a choice between a girl with a good personality or a girl who
was pretty, WITHOUT talking to them first, the guy would go with is first
instinct and say "oh she's pretty I'm gonna go for her instead of the ugly
one." And like someone said... guys don't go around through crowds of people
and point out every flaw that a person has, but if they see a pretty girl
they think "man I'd like to get with her" when really she's probably the most
shallow boring person that guy could ever choose. Not that I have anything
against pretty people, it's just that most of them in my school tend to be
hos... and not even nice hos... they're all really mean and bitter and
stupid. Yeah... that's about it... sorry for the long email.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! I just heard Hey Pretty on Channel 104.9. I went and
blasted it in my car while looking for a parking space. No heads turned but
it was good ;)
I put (Fremont) in parenthesis for the subject because the station is
Fremont/San Jose/San Francisco. Coincidentally, I had just come back from
Tower in Fremont, where I picked up the rubberbanded Haunted. The single
credits Mark's vocal (if you didn't see Rusty's ginormous scan of it when he
posted about it), and has a great big red rubberband that says
Bonus [Atlantic logo] The Atlantic Group CD
Haunted is of course the original with the Blair Witch sticker, and Tower
still sells it for $9.99.
I had just been thinking about requesting Angry Johnny on Channel 104.9 but
this is great! And it couldn't have been without all of *your* help, because
the same company, ClearChannel, owns KWOD, KDGE, and Channel 104.9...check
out the websites and you'll see that KDGE's and Channel 104.9's logos look
ridiculously similar.
Anyway, yeah, love/hate KROQ and CBS (they own Live 105 too, who have played
Hey Pretty like 4 times total)...I'm bootlegging Loveline tomorrow from Live

Well, amongst the people we went to school with, I made a distinct notation,
that he agreed with upon my pointing it out: The hottest chick in high school
can easily start putting on the pounds, especially if having a child quickly
is involved, and in general, once married, a woman considers herself, (as she
should, of course,) content with herself, and no longer in that rat race she
went thru in her teens and early 20s to be among the most-wanted hot young
thangs. After a person marries, they're done with that. They've landed
their match. They can exhale now. (Toni Morrison images enter.) The prom
queen can only wear her tiara for so long. And Barbies dolls only look brand
new for so long.
Marry a fat chick, (or fat guy, whatever your sex or pursuation may be.)
Such people are likely happier with themselves just the way they are. Or, as
often really DOES happen, they get inspired by their marriage or starting a
family and want to LOSE weight. Whatever! I don't know what I'm saying.
Basically, we should all just accept what we are, and if we truly do not like
that, do what you have to do to change it, because no one else will make you
happy until YOU make you happy, and you will not make anyone else happy until
you make YOU happy, and they won't make you happy until...... um, ya get what
I'm saying here?

Then they might as well be screen printed, the main advantage of transfer is
that you can have the hundreds of colors that can make possible the pictures.

mmm... ice cream...
don't get me wrong, i'm a fit person (i teach cardio
kickboxing and i'm certified to teach tkd and i
currently take genwakai karate and a sparring class),
but i do love ice cream.. and chocolate.
my fav ice cream at the moment (i say moment, 'cause
it changes all the time) is cookie dough. gotta love
the cookie dough.. and well.. i just love junk food..
(i make a killer homeade cheesecake!).. and coffee..
though that's just a vice of mine, i love it, but it
doesn't actually help me anymore.. (realized that
after i started drinking a pot of coffee in the
morning and about another pot through the day).. k.
i'm done rambling..
on a poe related note.. is she just gonna be on the
televised portion of loveline, or is she gonna be on
the radio portion tomorrow night? that's important to
know 'cause i don't have cable.. (the only radio i
have anymore is in my car though, so..)
k. i'm done. later all.
