I ran off with it to some of my favorite places to hang, and I will share a couple of those pics also, as I took them in what is the wildest part of Rochester so you may enjoy them. Anyway, I'm taking shots when I notice this car, or more specifically the licensee plate. http://poe.org/irc/bjork.jpg So I figured you Bjork fans would appreciate this, by the way I am a Bjork fan also, I don't think I need to tell you what station plays her, and apparently more ANGRY women than any other station in the universe. So the owner of the car it turns out, is a non computer user, and knows nothing of online fan clubs but would love some tour info. So I took a pic of him and his car and the plate... His name is Dan Kane he would like you to know. http://poe.org/irc/bjorknydan.jpg I told him I would post it to this group, sure that it would make it's way around the Bjork circles, I'm taking him to the local library and hooking him up with an account and enough lessons to get him to the lady he loves. (1) Who you are? My name is Tasmia Given (2) Where you're from? I am from Odessa, TX and currently live in DFW (3) How old you are? I am 22. (4) Where you first heard Poe? I first heard Poe on a radio station called the X, in Odessa. I kept hearing pieces of Trigger Happy Jack. That's it, just enough pieces to lodge the song into my brain, without knowing all the words. So I questioned anyone and everyone about the "psycho song" and found nothing. Finally, I heard the entire song, along with the title of the album. So instead of going to class, I drove to all the music stores in town looking for Hello. I think I may have bought the last one in town. That was years ago and now I do anything I can to spread the word. In fact, I've gotten at least a dozen people to buy her latest cd (either for themselves or as a gift). I've been given several testimonials on how Poe has changed their lives, but more on that later. (5) What other musicians do you listen to? I listen to a wide variety of music. My collection ranges from AC/DC to Tori, Beastie Boys to the Black Crowes, David Bowie, Lou Reed, The The, Liz Phair, Lords of Acid, Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack, Mazzy Star and Tool to Rob Zombie. I love music, I can't live without my music. (6) Any other interesting information you wish to share. My name originated in Legion of the Super Heroes. Tasmia was the name of the hero ShadowLass. What can I say? My parents my be stranger than I? I received a degree in political science. I write professionally (currently in the IT industry, but of course I do write fiction, who doesn't these days). I just completed a novel by Kathe Koja (Kink) and William Burroughs. I am also working on a compilation of critical analysis pieces on Poe's work. I will publish them to a website and put the link out on the AP list. Finally, I have a question. They are very actively going after the operators of x.men.com and several other sites. The stance they are taking is that the "x-men" name was used to draw children to their site , and the X-men name is owned by Marvel . Of course the hyphen is a problem .. and they are working on that. Marvel wants the site removed.. and if that is not possible.. they want some sort of age verification process incorporated and the graphic pics removed from the front page. I asked what I could do to help. They want letters.Lots and lots of letters. They will not retain your email address or sell your information. The letter should state your name, the city you are from , and a brief summary of why you find the site offensive. The focus is not that porn is bad... the focus is that many children will inadvertantly be drawn to that site... and then cannot get out as it takes you to site after site. I would appreciate it if anyone would take a couple minutes to send a letter. You can send it to Mr Liebowitz directly , and they will be included in the court documents.
