Almost all my male friends like her, some of them are getting more and more into her now...(hmm..it's about time to introduce them the Pyscho List.) Some of my female friends like her as well, but some got really jealous, 'cause I talk about Poe 24/7. Well, who could blame them. Oh, I just got this internship working in the research center for art & technology starting next week. The one I got from Comp USA has both midi in and out in both directions so I can use midi to sequence stuff onboard the Roland from the computer (there is also an auxiliary connector for the joystick, in case you use one). The cable I got cost something like $29.95, which was a lot less than the ones at most music stores...AND, it had a complimentary cd of Cakewalk Express in the package. I think there are also adapter plugs for the joystick port that allow you to use your regular midi cables . ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Feb 2001 12:16:42 -0800 (PST) From: Michelle Boozell Subject: [none] Hi- I'm Michelle, I just joined. Then Haunted came out about a month later and I got that almost right away. I also listen to The Beatles, Hole, The Jackson 5, you get the point, I have a wide range. My name's Annika, but I go by Ani (On-ee) for short. I will shortly be 17 years old and I live in a suburb of Los Angeles, California. I've been a Poe fan for a ridiculously short period of time (I'm not even sure if it's 3 months or 2 months or 4 months but I'm pretty sure it's not 1 month...) but however long ago that was, it wasn't the first time I had heard Poe. See, maybe 2-3-4 years ago (can anyone already tell that I have no sense of how much time passes) a good friend of mine named Forsythia bought Hello and made me listen to it. I'm really random about when I buy CDs, though, and I wasn't really in a mood to go out and buy it even though I liked it. Then, however many months ago, Forsythia was raving about how great Poe's new cd was. I kept that kind of in the back of my head. Later on, I was sitting around and home and decided I wanted to buy a couple of cds...of course, by the time I reached the freakin' store I had forgotten what CDs I'd had in mind...and me, being as random as I am, decided to buy both Hello and Haunted, and bada-bing, bada-boom, I am now hooked. lol. Yep, so that's my ever-so-exciting-How-I-Came-to-Like-Poe story. As far as other music I like goes...well, music is my life and I don't stick to completely one genre. I love jazz music: David Brubeck, Dizzy Gilespi, Art Tatum, I'm drawing a blank, but I love all the greats of jazz. Then there's the whole classic rock thing: Kansas (my favorite of this genre), Boston, STYX, Billy Joel, Elton John, Peter Frampton (all of whom I have had the great pleasure of experiencing live), Queen, Yes, Supertramp, etc. Then there's the "modern stuff": Poe, Veruca Salt, Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Dishwalla, Bad Religion, Rancid, Nina Gordon, Richard Marx, Soul Asylum, I could go on forever. I am a musician myself. I sing, play piano, bass, and many other percussion instruments (xylophone, marimba, vibraphones, tympani, etc). Blablabla. I am sick of talking about myself. What I'd really like to hear more about is Poe and all her little (or big) angry psychos =) Looking forward to getting to know you all. Byebye now! ~*~*~*Ani*~*~*~ _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Feb 2001 23:30:55 -0700 From: Kimberly Davis Subject: More sitckers My sick mind came up with another sticker hope you like! Oh my god. It was unbelievable. It had so many features and effects on it...the demo was pure techno/house music, but then he flipped some more switches and turned some knobs (you can tell i'm acoustic LOL) and said "start hitting keys on the alesis"; all of a sudden, each key pressed produced this really eerie sounds...kind of like horror video game music. it was great. and then i found out that it wasn't the keyboard doing all the work, it was the Virus. "Buy the virus, and then go to kmart and buy a casio" is what he said. "It'll work just as well." And then there was the Novation processor/synth. It was too expensive, but it was pretty nifty. Anyway. The whole point of this post was just to suggest trying out hardware as well; the processors record their own stuff as well, so then you can just transfer it to the computer. Then you can take your little protools or cakewalk or whatever and your gibson les paul custom guitar (i want. yes.) and make wonderful beautiful music. i also just wanted to brag about how i got to try musical toys. :D. go to a music store! NOW! Try them out! oh and i played poe over the house system again and got a whole bunch of people interested in 'walk the walk"...which they said they'd download off napster tonight LOL. _______________________________________________________ Get an Anonymous, Free Email at http://www.sub-mail.com Visit http://www.sub-net.com for the worlds best pages! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Feb 2001 07:33:09 -0600 From: "spidee" Subject: semi npr:And bethany has great taste in music K's Choice is flipping awesome; cocoon crash was so much better than paradise in me though.
