My solution? I don't listen to the radio anymore. I still have the freedom to run to the store and buy any CD I want. I go through the used stuff all the time and come up with dozens. The teenybopper cheese doesn't bother me, because I used to eat up that stuff too. I just don't listen to it now. (There's always a place for George Michael in my heart though! hehe) I wish heaps of success for Poe, but I must admit that it was super spanky to see her in the front row at Borders. While using Napster, I noticed that many 56k transfers were ending in error, and looking to reach a broader audiance, I decided to have another look at Gnutella, which seemd to go from great to dead when it was first announced that Napster would be shut down. Here is what I found at the Gnutella page. http://gnutella.wego.com/ Important! There is no official program named "Gnutella". The original version, 0.56, was released as an early beta. The program was excellent, but not completed. This version contained defects that contribute to poor functioning of the network, which consists of all the computers running a client on the Internet at the same time. All existing robust clients are clones, with their functionality derived from a reverse engineering effort on the original program. The proliferation of the old software has prevented the Gnutella network from reaching its full potentials. The entire community can help to solve this problem by looking to the leaders of the Gnutella compatible software effort: =========================================== sp00k says: Hate new software? For example, in 33 hours of run time, 20,000 searches were made that returned the result "www POE org Jane Says [Porno For Pyros Cover (live)].mp3" to those who were doing the searching. There were 6 downloads, meaning perhaps, that some were looking for other versions of "Jane Says", and maybe 19,900 were searching for just "Porno" but found POE..... ============================================ LimeWire Main Page http://www.limewire.com/ Downloads http://www.limewire.com/download/index.htm Limewire is written in Java, and will run on any machine with an internet connection and the ability to run Java version 1.1.8. In truth, it boils down to giving them their right as American citizens and human beings to the pursuit of happiness. So anybody out there who has ever done something as simple as going to the movies or listening to Poe because it make them happy, and won't "accept" homosexuals, are hypocrites (which in some respects, ranks among the worst things to be.) Its not our place to say yes or no in my opinion, but it is our place to say "Whatever makes you happy" So the open minded and the close minded I'm sure, both have it in them to give fellow human beings that, especially because what makes them happy has nothing to do with, and in no way affects us. (if it were argued that murder makes people happy so should they be allowed to do that ect) just my 2 cents worth Maeve ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! If you have access to a good printer, a good computer to print from and would be willing to print out the stickers for your fellow psychos, write me.
