I'm listening to that CD right now (the Placebo one with Special K, Black Market Music). It's highly worth getting, if you can. I'm not sure where it's released and where it isn't. Lucky me, I got a copy used right after Christmas at Plan 9 in Richmond, VA (shameless plug, it's a great store). It's been in and out of my CD player ever since. If you haven't listened to Placebo before, listen to the Special K original before hearing the remix. It's good stuff. Oi. I ramble. No, you're absolutely right. It would help a lot. We just have to wait until her video for "Wild" is released. As soon as the video debuts, we can go whole-hog behind it. : ) Of course, we will all do our fair share to request it to MTV, M2 and vh-1 to make sure it has presence on all channels in their general rotation, but I'm sure we can plan some specific days or time periods to work particularly hard to get it on TRL. Someone even spoke of getting a group together in NYC to actually go down to the TRL studios with posters, t-shirts etc. trying to get on camera and all the sort. Seems like a good idea to me. : ) KORi ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2001 19:16:27 EST From: GloryBox84@aol.com Subject: Re: Requesting Poe In a message dated 1/29/2001 3:51:27 PM Central Standard Time, blondi0377@yahoo.com writes: > I hate to say it for fear of falling into the teeny > bopper pop star trap, but if we all requested Poe on > TRL it could make a real difference. The point is not to act like this. The point is to get Poe's music out there, so people will realize how wonderful she is and so her record company will see the results. She has been having many many problems with the record company as of late, and I think we can all do something about it. This is easy. You can get on the web and do it. You can call. Just request Poe as soon as the videos get out, and the record company will see people requesting her videos on MTV. That's a major step for any artist, and record companies like to see it because, frankly, it means more money.
