Current pop songs and videos were inserted in part thruout the show. (We're talking The Jets and Expose, stuff of that nature.) I wish I could say "I was young.... ALF stats Alf..... Series summary: Well, what would you do if an alien's spaceship crashed into your garage? Call the police? If you lived in a TV sitcom, you would probably do just what the Tanners did--hide him in the kitchen and enjoy years of laughs. Actually, there was little more to the plot of ALF than that. The furry little creature, nicknamed ALF (For "Alien Life Form"), landed on the Tanners' garage when his spacecraft went out of control. Unfortunately the ship couldn't be fixed, and anyway, his home planet of Melmac had just blown up, so ALF took up residence in the pleasant suburban Tanner home, disrupting their formerly boring life and commenting sarcastically (in a gravelly voice provided by the show's co-creator Paul Fusco) on the foibles of earthlings. The dense neighbors, never figured out what was going on. A baby named Eric was born to the Tanner household in 1989, giving ALF new human customs to wisecrack about, and Willie's eager-to-please younger brother Neal showed up a few times in the last season to add variety. In a final episode cliffhanger in March 1990, ALF was contacted by Melmacians Skip and Rhonda, who invited him to leave with them and colonize a new planet--just as the U.S. government's Alien Task Force closed in to capture the furry little wiseacre. ALF was a novelty hit in the 1986-1987 season, leading to ALF dolls and other kid's paraphernalia. NBC even issued an official biography of its Monday night star. He was said to be 229 years old ("I've got dandruff older than your country") and had attended Melmac high school for 122 years, where he majored in software and was co-captain of the Bouillabaisseball team. Adult occupations included Assistant Boxleitner, part-time rale model, and operator of his own phlegm dealership. Hobbies included gerrymandering and snacking on cats, a Melmackian delicacy (the Tanners' cat Lucky, was often seen scurrying from the room). Height: "Fluctuates with weight." Weight: "Till the Sun Shines Nellie." The creators of this fanciful comedy were Fusco and actor/producer Tom Patchett; a frequent director was TV comic Peter Bonerz. A three-foot-tall midget by the name of Michu Meszaros was inside the ALF costume (when scenes called for it to walk around) during the first season. I'd love to have all the crap sold there, but at this time all I really have is some t's, an autographed copy of the book "Two Scripts: Chasing Amy and Clerks", (99.9% of the time autographs mean nothing to me, but for some reason I'm jazzed about having this one,) and a keychain (which, for some reason, guys really dig... take note girls. : ) I've been meaning to get the zippo for ages now, but I always convince myself I'm going to quit smoking just before ordering it. It was a Christian children's show, (hence the name,) that featured a little boy and his talking dog in their little activities that in the end taught morals and such. One of the early stop-action puppet productions on TV. I don't know how long it ended up running or airing, but the 70's were it's heyday. Incidentally, Jay (of Jay and Silent Bob fame) mentions the show in the movie "Dogma'. (I am the Matt Pinfield of obscure, lame pop trivia.) FantomBeauty. I am 23 years old from Rehoboth, DE. I first heard Poe back in 95 when her album was released. I heard Angry Johnny on the radio, and I immediately fell in love with her strength, both vocally and sexually. She is so powerful and her music does something to me that I cannot explain except to say that it amazes me every time I hear it. I love to listen to just about anything that makes me move and want to get up and dance and celebrate. That is why I love Poe I guess, she is just a natural celebration of what a strong, opinionated woman should be. Hope to hear from you all soon!! I have Protection too, but I'm definitely more fond of Mezzanine. I've been putting a couple of dollars a week away to save up for the singles collection thats supposed to include a special poster. I've read that their new album will have 80+ tracks, but I figure that can't be right. If your a Garbage fan they did a TON of remixes of Milk (I think they did at least 12), and if you have any compiliation cds you might be suprised that a lot of MA's members contribute to remixes. They probably have ties to 50% of electronic artists. - - --Kim ~*You gotta have fear in your heart*~ -Liz Phair ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Jan 2001 20:57:45 -0800 From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?Madhatter=3F?= Subject: Fw: Fave Kids Shows Jabber Jaw was quite cool.........that was part of the cartoon express.
