Just think what he could have done when he went out into the crowd! I'm surprised he even went on after seeing the lineup of crap that went on before him. Sitting through all of those horrible performances was BRUTAL, except for, like you said, that group she daisy. Like you I have no idea why I enjoyed their performance. Oh yeah, Pink CAN'T sing live, this was the biggest disappointment of the whole night for me, I thought that maybe she might actuallly be able to pull off a good live performance. Oh, and this brings me to the Britney question. You see, the reason she doesn't sing live is that she (or better yet her managers) are slightly smarter than Pink. Britney obviously can't sing worth a damn either, so instead of trying they just drown her out with a backup track. I thought something was wrong with my tv when Ricky Martin performed, so I just changed the station, that seemed to fix it. - ---Jobe Yahoo! Anyway, Yeah he has a smaller fan base now then before. He had people flocking to him during AntiChrist and when it came time to release his follow up, he did what he wanted to do. he didn't just rehash what he had done before. Allot of the fans who had jumped on the fad found themselves hopping off the band wagon. They were last seen wearing limp biscuit T-shirts. :) Just kidding. Anyhow, They're selling just about what he thought they would. I can explain exactly why in detail but I have a feeling that no one here really gives that much of a shit so I won't waste our time. > He > needed the exposure, and the AMAs are just as much a means to promote new > stuff as an appearance on Leno or Letterman. You always want to sell more. > Manson did what every other pop star has done eventually - put on > the vocal track and lipsynched thru a tune. Fact: Manson Has never lip synched. I'm a huge fan of her work with Blondie but find the one solo album of hers that I've heard hard to stomach. Have you heard Radiohead's cover of Union City Blue? Not a favorite, but then again I'm not anywhere near as fond of Radiohead as those that generally share my taste. - - --Kim ~*You gotta have fear in your heart*~ -Liz Phair ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 10 Jan 2001 00:39:38 EST From: PorinthiaStar@aol.com Subject: Re: depressed albums(Inspiring albums) I know all except "trickle" so am I 1/2 Guru? :) Caleb, I'm suprised Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie did not make your list. Bravo on the question, this one I can actually narrow down to a few selections, unlike the funeral pix that I'm still pondering! 1) Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie~Alanis 2)Surfacing~ Sarah Mclachlan 3) Hello~Poe (This is the soundtrack in my mind to some incredible memories, nothing like remembering what made you happy before to make you want to keep living) 4)Still In Hollywood~Concrete Blonde (if you haven't heard "Tomorrow Wendy"....you need to) 5)Mad Season~Matchbox20 (this album suprised me, I really like it) I also agree w/ Little Earthquakes & Tigerlily both are amazing ~Abi In a message dated Wed, 3 Jan 2001 12:35:39 AM Eastern Standard Time, Caleb Munro writes: Album Most Able to Help You Withdrawl from Suicidal Tendencies (aka Makes You Want to Live) -- in my vote: heres a couple. 'little earthquakes' by tori (sorry i cant be more creative, but it is something i would put in and it does inspire me a lot) 'tigerlily' by natalie merchant (has a good number of depressing and/or dark songs but is full of emotion that is cathartic IMHO) 'no need to argue' by the cranberries 'trickle' by olive 'marvin the album' by frente! (if you know them, you are a true music guru i must say ... why put it on? to find out who knows them, of course silly) caleb ===== "What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn." - Henry David Thoreau Yahoo!
