I'm a pretty big No Doubt fan and I heard she was doing a song with Gwen. That was before I had the internet and could find more info on her so that was the extent of my knowledge about her until recently. (5) What other musicians do you listen to? I honestly listen to almost anything and everything. Some of my top artist are Tori Amos, No Doubt, Dixie Chicks, Destiny's Child, etc. I'm a girl that likes to listen to music by girls cause I can relate to their music more. But note above where I'm from and you can guess some guys that might slip into my musical interest. I don't like to categorize what I listen to. I'm open to it all. I like music, plain and simple. Their album is pretty eclectic, sounding close to anything like Luscious Jackson and Portishead (this is what I'm told, as I have not listened closely to those bands) to even Kittie. I love the album, everyone should buy it. :) Some of their stuff is hard, while still others are slow and melodic, and all have a good, fun, beat. I think the two together would sound great. I think one of the things I like about the album is that it's superbly overproduced, which they lose live. Performing live they had Tobey singing, the bass player, 2 guitarists, a drummer, and very few sampled sounds. Hard to produce the same feel as the album without the electronics. Good energy though, and I would love to see them tour with POE... Any excuse to see POE live, really :) But you're right, I couldn't even begin to compare SRC with Luscious Jackson or Portishead. Are you into the post- Kitchen Tapes Raincoats? I think their latter-day material is kind of boring. If you haven't heard the SYR series, I would highly recommend it to you, seeing that you like DJ Olive and the Slits & Raincoats. They're pretty bizarre records (what you've come to expect from Kim Gordon) & DJ Olive actually appears on one of them (album #5 I think). The drummer of DNA is also on that same cd, a group you MUST like if you're into the Slits, Raincoats AND x Ray Spex.
