Because I'm a good little boy, I'm giving you the information you've all been dying your entire lives to hear. I'm Dustin I'm from Cincinnati I'm a very mature 17 years old I do believe I first heard Poe on the Great Expectations soundtrack. I asked for Haunted for xmas (i've wanted it since i heard walk the walk on the radio), got it, just listened to it, and was floored. i love it more than my lungs. I'm a tori amos freak. gotta love the goddess. i also listen to ani difranco, beth orton, liz phair, bjork, madonna, bt, moby, pj harvey, luscious jackson, natalie merchant, rent, cabaret, chicago among many others. Since there's nothing else interesting to share (or that i care to at 2:30 in the morning), so i think i'll leave it at that. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Dec 2000 02:46:15 EST From: UnionCityGarbage@aol.com Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V5 #341 In a message dated 12/24/2000 12:37:59 AM Central Standard Time, owner-angry-psychos-digest@smoe.org writes: > I bought Joydrop's Metasexual and a lot of people with taste similar to mine love them... All I have to say is that perhaps I didn't give the album much of a chance, but it very quickly made it way OUT of rotation from my cd player. Picking up that cd taught me a good bit about buying albums on a whim after having heard only one single. I've already posted a few messages, but I forgot to introduce myself, so here goes. . . My name is Michael, and I am living in Rochester, MN at the moment (I hope to move to Minneapolis before too long). I am 29 years old (*gasp*) and have been a Poe fan since the first album came out. I really love all Poe's music, so it's hard to pick a favorite. . .hmm. . .I guess the song that got me hooked was "Hello", so thats my favorite. I listen to a whole range of music, but I regularly listen to: Poe, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Catherine Wheel, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, REM, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Tori Amos, Milltown Brothers, Pink Floyd, Sting, Janes Addiction, and then there's my electronica passion. . . Paul Okenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Sandra Collins, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, BT, Timo Maas, and on and on! I rarely have the urge to go see live acts, but I always wanted to see Poe live, and still do. So Poe - when (not if) you do your next tour, make sure you hit Minnesota. BTW: "Haunted" is another awesome release - thank you! Guys, guys, guys. There are 337 people who subscribe to the regular list, and 196 who subscribe to the digest. Assuming none of those overlap (which, actually, they do) that makes 533 APs overall. Now, one thing I learned from this whole election balderdash is that 300,000 people is something like 1% of Americans. So, basically, we are just a drop in the ocean to MTV. The NKOTB thing was in the relatively early days of TRL, and even then, I am sure, they needed thousands upon thousands of votes. Today, when TRL is so popular? All I'm saying is, we don't really have a chance unless there is a new single with a new video which they premiere somewhere relatively visible, which might get the great unwashed voting too. I think harassing MTV and organizing poster campaigns etc. sounds like fun and is a good idea, but personally I feel like you might as well wait until we have a chance (and something worth promoting. Why get Angry Johnny back on TV? So you can tape it? I don't get it.) I mean, go right ahead and do it if you already have it planned out and things. But don't feel too let down if things do not go as hoped. And be prepared to do it all again in the future, when the chances are much better. Twalen Fleety MonkeyMan Yahoo!
