My only problem with Tori is the extent that much of her earlier work borrowed heavily from Kate Bush, especially production wise, to the point of being a sound-a-like. One of the worst things that happened, is that many of my friends had been listening to me listen to Kate Bush for years and years. When Tori first hit the scene, many of them starting asking about Kate Bush's new album that they had just heard a song from. I had to inform them it was not Kate... She certainly has talent and devoted fan base and developed her own voice. But I have just never been able to enjoy her music and listener because of this. Of course, I have not listened to a whole album of hers since Little Earthquakes(?) and the followup...so I may be way out of date. That said keep in mind, Lords Of Acid does not enjoy the advantage that Tori holds, of being played on a variety of radio formats and music video stations. Considering that LOA has seen almost NO commercial air play, as I said, Poe should be so fortunate in the future that she should draw the kind of crowds that LOA does, as it seems she is on a similar non-commercial air play path. In light of some of the talk, here on the AP list, and on #poe, focusing on who Poe might/should tour with, and hopes/speculation about the level of fame she might someday achieve with her music, I fully expect she will be much bigger than LOA, or Tori. I don't see Poe as ANYBODY'S "opener" She's the main act, and it would be nice to see/hear an act that is equally unique to properly complement yet not overshadow hers. In a previous post, I included this list of stations that also air the "Universal Buzz Concert Series" Tim Dube already mentioned that WBNY in Buffalo is playing Poe, now that all of you regionals got your balls thanx 2 LivTheMdns@aol.com http://www.polishchick.com/munecas/ball.html you should contact the stations that are in your region, let them know you are a fan of Poe, I suggest that you do it in person if possible, and give them a copy of the new CD, don't expect automatically that they will have it. Once you know that they do have it, feel out the DJ's especially in the prime time slots, locating the ones that are Poe friendly. If you don't usually do so, tune your FM dial down to the left end of the spectrum (wait till you hear what you been missing) , for now that's where you will find the stations that will be receptive to your requests for Poe. 91.3 FM WBNY Buffalo, NY Buffalo State U 1570 AM KAMP Tuscon, AZ University of Arizona 1260 AM KASC Tempe/Phoenix, AZ Arizona State U Mon @ 3PM 88.1 FM KCWU Ellensburg, WA CWU 89.7 FM KIWR Omaha, NE Non-Commercial 89.1 FM KLPI Ruston, LA Tech.
