From: bagman270@earthlink.net A story for you....... Once upon a time a very talented woman visited Niagara Falls, NY and ran into a State Police officer whom she gave a promo disc too. The officer, although grateful, didn't get into music very much and gave the promo to his partner who appreciated music as much as the air he breathed. That partner was me, and I just wanted to let you know a few things...... I have listened to your cd, actually, I can't stop listening to it. It is absolutely incredible. I mainly listen to blues and jazz but I have to tell you, I can't stop listening to this cd. From the lyrics to the rhythms to the incredible mixing, to the entire band..........it's a journey that I cannot stop taking. Thanks! Also, in case you were wondering, the love you obviously have for your father (and mother) comes pouring through on this cd. Good Job! Well, after going to the Borders mini-tour in Buckhead, I was surprised by all the AP's that showed up. I thought I was alone here, since 99X hardly gives Poe any play. But! Alas! I am not alone! I have found the mailing list, so here I am. I picked up Hello when it first came out waaaay back and listen to it at least once a week. She is just one of the best (and most underrated) performers around, not to mention beautiful! I'm a little disapointed that there are only 400 or so Angry Psychos out there who are in love with Poe. She is AMAZING! There should be a million of us, maybe someday that will happen. I'm from Portland, Oregon. Which, if you ask me, is the most beautiful city in America. I can't say in the world because I've never been out of the states. If you haven't visited Portland you should very soon. We have amazing clubs and bars and so much culture you could choke on it. Are there any other AP's from here??? I was introduced to Poe by my best friend and we attended her concert in November of '96 at a trendy little club here called "Laluna". It was the best show I've ever been to. I could have reached out and touched her she was so close. It's been five years since I got Hello and I have never stopped listening to it. I was thrilled about her new album and if you don't have it yet, well then you suck cause it's awesome. I can't wait until she tours again. Does anyone know when that will be???? Okay, so, I don't have anything else to say except tell everyone you meet about her and maybe one of these days she'll be a household name. It's a shame she isn't already, people are really missing out on some beautiful music and poetry. :-) Melissa _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. At the top of the page is a blank space for you to supply your e-mail address, if you do not put one in, it will tell you that it is incorrect. Thats my guess. http://wber.monroe.edu/year2000.html Hope that helps. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Dec 2000 15:32:32 -0500 From: "sp00k@poe.org" Subject: Re: HUH?!?!?! This is a problem with "gblx.net" part of the disney family. If mail originates from yahoo, hotmail, and perhaps other web based e-mail accounts, and arrives at gblx.net via poe.org it rejects it as a "forwarded mail" they do this as an "anti-spam" measure. I contacted Jarrod on this issue a few weeks ago. What it means is that you may have problems contacting people at poe.org e-mail addresses if you send mail from a web based account, depending on the policy of your ISP. > > ---I don't know what the hell this means, but if > anyone can answer my question, thanks. > > ---Jobe > > > --- Mail Delivery Subsystem > wrote: > > The original message was received at Thu, 7 Dec 2000 > > 19:46:55 GMT > > from [216.136.130.86] > > > > ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal > > errors ----- > > > > > > ----- Transcript of session follows ----- > > ... while talking to smtp.frontiernet.net.: > > >>> RCPT To: > > <<< 571 We only accept mail from Yahoo free e-mail > > accounts from Yahoo's servers. Anyways here's another for Walk The Walk. Dunno guess this is a little less story like so harder to tell. Hard to describe it but thinking a large wire darkish metallic sphere shaped thing with like tv screens all over it facing in sorta spinning with poe inside bouncing arround.. Screens would be showing just various video clips of just stuff ranging from her childhood to about anything else depending on what the song is saying. Would start out slow and closeup to her about 1.05 when she screams can you walk the walk a closeup of one of the screens with her screaming into the megaphone for hello then everything starts moving faster with her spinning arround inside during the March, Play, Walk blah blah to my own drum parts slower and closeup to her during the others a parade, kids playing parents yelling and stuff... Would speed up and slow down like that. at 2.55 it would zoom further into a black and white screen with the back of a father standing over the little girl on the cover who is staring at the floor and her father saying it's a wonderfull idea... as it zooms into the girls face she starts looking up saying My Own Drum, My own Beat then poe sort of knocks the screen out of the way and closeup of her doing the floating in space parts as everything's spinning and begins fading out. Ummmm lets see out of work for over a month...can do 3d stuff, know other 3d people know an avid guy a sound guy and almost everyone else needed to do a video and we have been trying to get something together just need that project to get it all started sooooooooooo If your reading this Poe and going to be doing a video...drop me a line please? :) Matthew Hyner http://www.metagraphical.com ________________________________________________________ 1stUp.com - Free the Web Get your free Internet access at http://www.1stUp.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 07 Dec 2000 23:17:45 From: "Gillian Ruland" Subject: [none] (1) Who you are?, (2) Where you're from?, (3) How old you are?, (4) Where you first heard Poe?, (5) What other musicians do you listen to? and (6) Any other interesting information you wish to share.
