Columbus would be okay too. "Control" is a very good choice of song, though "Padre Fear" would be cool too, since it wasn't on any album...sort of like Ohio being the only single region state. Hmmmmmmm........I'm not really much of a vinyl sex-god, but I am a god, so I'm cool with your motto. If the nick fits, wear it. Black and red is okay...gold might be nice too...or translucent...hell, how about the entire spectrum:-) Bird: The bird of paradise maybe...or the Phoenix (if we can beat the WCAP to it...it is a mythic symbol of immortality). How about the roc, a mythical 3 headed monster of a bird...after all, Cleveland "roc"s......... Great choice of flower, though the opium poppy has certain advantages. How about the black lotus, another mythic item, found in Homer as well as the Conan the Barbarian tales of Robert E. Howard...sort of like the opium poppy only nastier. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 02:07:47 EST From: VR5SBloom@aol.com Subject: Request magazine again I was looking through eBay and found a nice descriptive auction for the Request magazine with Poe and MZD in it, from searching for U2 since they're on the cover. It said something about Suncoast's Replay magazine. I guess I remember seeing Request at a Suncoast, I know I've seen it somewhere other than Musicland/SamGoody. Also that would explain why the person who has the article called it Replay magazine. Anyway, it does have U2 on the cover, and the issue is Nov/Dec so I don't hafta give up hope yet ::D I will probably be too scared to brave the mall this weekend, but if anyone does see it, please get an extra copy and let me know! - --Michele ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 02:09:31 EST From: BUDave18@aol.com Subject: Re: we can work it out BAP= BOSTON aps :) BOSTON.. remember us? heh peace, Seb ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 02:11:17 EST From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: NYC area AP's In a message dated 11/20/00 11:35:21 PM Eastern Standard Time, lists@aamato.com writes: > NY area AP's, > > I can't believe no one have mentioned NYC AP's. "personal ghosts haunt trip-hop diva poe." flattering headline, i suppose, i just don't like the 'diva' moniker too much...reminds me of celine dion and christina aguilera. there's also a one-page color ad in the middle of the mag. reddish poe ball, underneath it says 'haunted' the new album and there's a picture of an angry little girl...to the right of her is a sign that says 'don't be scared.' i forgot where i've seen this pic before...i think on p-o-e.com. anyways, i only found one copy, but i think they stockpile these things at work, so maybe i can grab a couple and send them out to people. WCAPs...i think you can probably find these at any socal record stores...hopefully =] ...ray **************************************************************************** west coast angry psychos >> www.egroups.com/group/wcap the writings on the wall >> www-scf.usc.edu/~rlew www.capitolrecords.com www.usc.edu/dt listen.to/The80sUnplugged **************************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 17:36:52 -0000 From: "monkeygrrl66 _" Subject: Re: poe in campus circle >>'diva' moniker too >>much...reminds me of celine dion and christina aguilera. ugh - please don't even mention such names - i can tolerate ms. dion, cuz she can sing, tho it gets annoyingly divonic quite quickly. and little miss uguilera (no typo)...she just takes herself way too seriously. every time she sings she has to reach the top and bottom of her range, i guess to prove she can. i can handle britany spears simply because i think she realizes that she's riding the sugar-coated pop sensation and doesn't take it all as she'll be here forever (with cher & cockroaches). anyway - enough griping from me... mopnkeygrrl66 >From: raymond lew >To: angry-psychos@smoe.org >CC: wcap@egroups.com >Subject: poe in campus circle >Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 09:07:08 -0800 (PST) > > >i don't know if someone's already mentioned this, but poe is on the cover >of campus circle...i guess it's a college newsmagazine, of sorts. the >cover photo is poe with the little girl standing in front of her (one of >the booklet pictures). > >the article itself is only one page, which was quite >disappointing. I heard more "Okie" jokes when I lived in Bryan/College Station than I have heard "Polack" jokes in my life. Most of this was football related of course...and Oklahoma is #1 in the nation this year, so they (Okie jokes) are probably really flying in Texas right now:-) Q: Why doesn't Texas fall into the Gulf of Mexico? A: Oklahoma sucks! Q: Why does it say "Oklahoma Is OK" on Okie license plates?
