Poe will be on KNRK in Portland for a live interview and possibly more. You can listen to KNRK on the net at www.knrk.com. I just got to Portland after the Seattle kickoff and will file a Very brief report now and a better one in the morning. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2000 04:27:42 EDT From: Dan98908@aol.com Subject: Set list at Seattle ---Wow!!! What a night! JUST got to the hotel in Portland after the kickoff show in Seattle. There were 60-70 people there and Poe seemed genuinely happy, she said she thought there would be a lot fewer since there was almost NO advertising of these events. She gave we APs credit for motivating her to get the second CD out and said she has enough songs that did not make it for the THIRD disc!!! She felt she has a lot to explore about her mother, as she has her father. The closeness of Mark and Poe were so wonderful to see. She referred to the Book and CD as siblings as well. Will post more tomorrow but the show was perfect, even for the first show!!! Mark and Poe sat in stools and their DJ was the only musician. She does her pieces karaoke style, was how she referred to the format. She started off talking about the concept of the project and how the book and songs were related and her feelings as the project developed. Then went into "Control" -- next was Spanish Doll, some readings by Mark and a symbiotic version of Hey Pretty, with Mark reading the passages that inspired the song. I am 46 and my wife of 26 years died three years ago. I cannot listen to If You Were Here without crying, tonight was no different. But I was not alone, she cried as well, Mark was also teary. She said this was the first time she ever sang that song in public. It was AMAZING!!! They closed with a question and answer session and did not hurry it, they answered any questions asked giving all a chance. I apologize for spelling errors I am not EVEN going to try and correct them now, I am going to SLEEP! It is hell to be old :) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2000 04:31:12 EDT From: Dan98908@aol.com Subject: Pictures from the show --- any ideas?? My son took some digital pics of the show in Seattle. Poe's management asked that we not videotape this first performance, hope to get Portland taped. Anyone have any ideas on how to get everyone access to the pics??? Even have some of the CD artwork. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Oct 2000 04:42:21 EDT From: Davey08@aol.com Subject: NWS: Napster Withdrawl Syndrome It seems every second I want to double click on an icon that I've erased. My heartbeat quickens, I pop my knuckles, and then slowly retreat to what as was doing before. I suppose my time was due. After all, I could have easily checked my harddrive for those files, for all I know they were under nose all along. But none of that matters now. No excuse, no matter how sincere with bring it back. Anyone? As an 18 year old sailor with the USN in 76, I recall while in crypto training school that they sent a young lady (WAVE) out to visit each class with the "EMHO Log" (Early Morning HardOn) The same young lady was encouraged to put in for orders to B.F. Egypt when she graduated from school, which she did. (Bum Fu*! Egypt that is) not that ladies were singled out, I sent more than a few newbies to the observation deck of an aircraft carrier to watch for the floating "Mail Bouy" to meet me in the bowling alley, or at the swimming pool, and gave a stunned look of surprise that they didnt know about the onboard chicken and egg farm.... all prior to "Tailhook" and "PC" P.S. The POE/MZD chat is still scheduled for 3-4PM Pacific, but the POE concert webcast is now scheduled for 11PM Pacific, which is a change from 9:40-10:30PM. The POE concert is now the final event listed for the Webfest. More info can be found at www.blairwitchwebfest.com Also: To participate in the chat, you'll need to download the special Blair Witch Worldsplayer that is available on the website listed above. To view the concert webcast, you'll need the latest version of Realplayer. One more thing, I have space for pictures from the tour available at houseofleaves.4t.com, which we can use as a temporary home so that everyone has access to them. However, I'd hope that we can eventually move everything over to angry-psychos.com, which has the past tales of AP events....
