I got out of class at 10 and went trecking to J&R. I look through thew new releases and nothing, I check their computer and it say Haunted comes out 9/19/00. I ask the salesman and he's oblivious to the upcoming Poe albume (and i do mean upcoming. I then check Sam Goody and other smaller record stores, all on two hours of sleep and the know nothing either. I finally got home now and checked the Atlantic webpage still reads Haunted 9/19/00. I clicked the "buy this albumn now" tab and it say's release date 10/31/00. Why Poe why, we can get your whole CD of of Napster but we can't buy it in stores. Perhaps the geniuses at Atlantic dreamed up an ingenius marketing scheme, "Haunted" coming out on Halloween. Excuse my rant, its been a rough day and it's not even noon. So thats all Kiddies, new release date 10/31/00 God gave men a penis and a brain and only enough blood to operate one at a time. Hello... I'm new around here, so here goes the obligatory introduction: I'm Joanna, 18, from Washington (the state). I have a friend who's been sending me Poe quotes at the end of his e-mails since my freshman year in high school, and he finally decided to burn me a copy of Hello and I listened to it non-stop for weeks, soaking in everything. Absolutely amazing, but I don't have to tell you guys that. Anyway, I'm a musicaholic. Radiohead, Travis, Pumpkins, Built to Spill, Placebo....there are tons. 'Buy this' does indeed have the new date, but the discography section has not been updated. That's right, it is, and one should. However, the use of epithets like "retarded" should be reserved for use in describing folks that are. To use it in general conversation as an adjective meaning slow, stupid, or otherwise incapable is inconsiderate, unkind and unnecessary. But, then again, it's one of those things that if you have to point out to someone, then it really doesn't f***ing matter because that person already sees nothing wrong with it. Just like some supposed adults I know who are still indecent and immature enough to make fun of retarded people, disabled people, old people, etc. Whatever. cp ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Sep 2000 19:59:40 -0400 From: "Chris Povie" Subject: Re: angry-psychos-digest V5 #236 > I think I could stand to > not see Poe exploited on the cover of that disgraceful devotion to "music". I have my screen set at 1024 X 768 so when people told me that could not see the chat link on the chat page, I couldn't quite figure out why. I have an IBM PS/2 486 that runs at 640 X 480 screen resolution. One look with that and it confirmed what I suspected. As a temporary solution, I have created two pages that I tested on my IBM, they fit well, and this old clunker (the computer) handles the Java just fine.
