Hey there everyone - I tried to post this info earlier , but it didn't go through. However, since the release date of the album has been bumped to the 31st of Oct. the listening parties can now be even more fun ! I'm in the process of contacting either Poe's Pub or the Richmond Poe Museum to see if we can get a space to throw down ;-) Here's my original message : <>>>> ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2000 07:52:45 PDT From: "Crissy Fletcher" Subject: SPR: Moved release date That really sucks that they are moving the relese date. As for Poe, releasing "Haunted" on Holloween is pretty cool. More time for marketing, plugs, and single airplay in the interim. Hang in there APs. You'll get yours. HAUNTED You know, if I was a musician (I'm not cause I'm a drummer) this sort of thing would piss me off. Think about it... you're in a band that does fairly well for the label, but do they even feature you on their website- let alone build you a decent one? No. Do they pay the band memembers much. Not really. Do they make distribution even more difficult? Yep. And for what? They mostly pay for studio time... whooopppie. I can only hope the likes of MP3s, Napster, Guntella, etc. change the face of the music industry. I hope more musicians do the Courtney Love thing and end their major label contracts and manage themselves. That's what I would do, but then like I said- I'm a drummer not a musician. Other topic... anyone know a good bass player, female singer (of course like our Mistress of Grove), and keyboard/electronic player in the Portland, OR area? Me and a guitar player are looking. HAUNTED Maybe there is now another level of similarity between Haunted (for those of us who haven't actually listened to it in its entirety) and HOL, or more precisely, the Navidson Record. The Navidson Record is totally fabricated by Zampano; nevertheless, it forms the (half of the) crux of HOL, as Z is constantly referring to it. Haunted (not quite fictitious as I know that I've gotten a few empeethrees) is as a whole quite out of my reach, and yet the entire AP community is talking about it. They are both these things out of reach, yet so miraculous. IT'S ALL A BIG HOAX! Lee "Do your dreams come true?"
