I had been downloading from the also eariler mentioned ssather. Just today, I was finishing downloading the last of the tracks, when he/she contacted me saying, "I take it you like Poe?" I was like, "Yeah". We got to talking about the album, and I asked if they read "House of Leaves" they said, "No, I'm waiting for the publistist to send it." I asked if that was also how they got the CD so early, if it was given to them by her publist, they said yeah. So I had to ask what business they were in. Well.... They work for the production company that is producing the next POE video!! I thought this was interesting info into how "Haunted" was first introduced into Napster. This is also great cause now I have a contact to someone in the industry that I am going to school for! All I ask is to not go bombarding this person with questions now, please refrain from "attacking" them with messages when you see em on line. :) Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I don't want them to get pissed, and stop communicating with me. :) Cara: I'm sorry, I feel for you. One thing I love about Poe is that she shows these influences in such a natural way it is not like she is copying or "copping the feel" of other artists...it is more like a genuine interest in those groups or singers that surfaces in her own style...it just reflects what she probably actually listens to. ------------------------------ Date: 10 Aug 2000 17:29:08 -0600 From: herald25@bellsouth.net Subject: NPR: Angry psychos in MI I'm going to be in Rochester, MI on the 7th of September thru the 14th. This is my first post and thought I'd say something while someone mentioned my homestate of Michigan. Well, I've been here on the AP list for about 3-4 months now. I came across this by trying to find out more about Poe one night. I actually got on the list before I even new she had a new cd coming! I've had a couple Poe songs on my computer since about January or so and don't know where they came from (my bro maybe?) and reallllllyyy liked it. So I bought the cd. I couldn't hardly stop listening to it! I still wonder what rock I was under when she released it in '95 or so. hmm... I have to play it all the time to make up for the 5 years I could have been listening to it :-) Anyway, I'm 20 and live in the central part of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Some of my favorite bands are of course Poe ;-) Hole (saw her in concert in Detroit about a year ago), No Doubt, Tricky, Tool, Bush, Korn, Luscious Jackson, yada, yada, yada. I found a band called Ruby that's pretty cool. I found like 2 songs on Napster so I bought (actually had to order it). Anyone else heard of it? Well enough blowin for one night. Its great to so a group of people so supportive of someone. Keep up the great work!
