This is fairly routine. My mentor at 99X received his POE gold and had it on his wall for a couple of years. These are generally done as a thank you. In fact, the presentation plate will have the name of the person it was presented to. (Part of the plate is shown in the ebay scan). Surprisingly, most of these either get thrown away after a few years or end up in charity auction/garage sales. The usually these items are worth around $25-$75 for minor artists and can be as valuable as a $400 if the artist becomes famous. A Beetles Gold single just went for about $600 recently at auction while an early Prince gold is about $150. Poe is still a baby artist (in industry terms) so the ebay price currently is a little high. I have considered bidding on it just because I would rather a fan own it than a record store. It is a neat collector's item if you are really into the artist but don't buy it as an investment piece... So now he can blame napster for lower records sales instead of bad music. At 09:03 PM 5/18/00 EDT, you wrote: > >LARS ULRICH IS A GREEDY BIG -MOUTHED DICK. I'm working on a top secret project and need the text of the book for it, and don't feel like taking apart and scanning my whole hardcover... I promise this is not a copyright infringement issue, and it's all for a good purpose, I just can't divulge my secrets (Mark, if you read this, I will let you know what I'm thinking about doing, but to anyone else it needs to remain a secret... I'll contact you via email when it's done.) I'd greatly appreciate it to anyone that can get the text to me... I think I have everything else I need.
