I don't remember them now so I'll get to the point. Anyway, I think screen names are interesting, I always wonder how people arrive at the name they get. SO... I thought (for those who are game) we all tell why we choose our screen names... i.e. significant meaning, something you saw on TV... just thought it would be interesting to see some of the creativity put into them. And to get the ball rolling I'll go first: Tinksweedie737 broken down: Tink is short for tinkerbell, a nickname I acquired when I was little and it stuck, Sweedie is for sweetie, but spelled kind of like my favorite candy, Swedish fish, and the 737: I had to have numbers at the end cause someone else also had my screenname so I picked my two favorites, 7 and 3. Ok... that's it. Mine's kind of lame, but others may not be.... have fun :) April Summer ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 May 2000 10:15:08 EDT From: XupX@aol.com Subject: Re: NPR; screen names Screen Name: X up X at the time of creating my screen names i was feeling kinda bad due to school problems and having lost my cds and poetry books..ok i was feeling more than kinda bad and when AOL wouldn't let me use any violent or dirty language in my screen name i got *down*... SO i made a screen name from it X down X ( the X's simply cuz it wouldn't accept any other variation ) a few days later, after getting accepted into the school i had been aiming for and receiving the ever so sweetest poem from my man-to- be i thought... i'm not always gonna be *down* so i made X up X for wheni was happy :-) and then i just plain got rid of X down X cuz .. well.. i just didn't want it anymore. hehe not the most interesting.. but i've got others Kramit Da Froggi ( dl it from napster... it's the funniest thing i have ever heard) InNaPrOPriATE ( cuz that is what i usually am ) anyhow i guess i'll be off to school ::vanna:: ------------------------------ Date: 8 May 00 08:33:51 PDT From: sam stark Subject: NPR: screen names As a 24 yr-old who is not ashamed to say that he likes "Weird Al" Yankovic, here's the history behind mine: If anyone has seen Weird Al's movie "UHF," you will remember that Michael Richards (aka Seinfeld's Kramer) played janitor Stanley Spadowsky. The character was a goddamn riot. If you like stupid movies like "The Naked Gun," you'll love this one. Good luck finding it, though. Guess that's it for now. Jeros is the name of the main character in an up and comming novel which I havn't written yet (I know everyon's gonna write a book, but I realy am) and slayer of all seemed apropriat because I liked to role play and I always won (yes, always) But then I lost the net for a while, a year in fact, and when I got back the name was still registered, but somehow I didn't like it anymore, and I didn't rp as much, and I had started smoking Camel lights. So I kept Jeros because it's prety original (I'm not even sure where it comes from, evidently it's a somewhat common first name in Brazil, I think) and I tacked on my favorite brand of smokes. so there you have it. I got by Divinity almost everywhere on the net. It originally started out as DivinitySt after the street where Timothy Leary conducted the first experiments with LSD way back when. But I eventually dropped the St, and just adopted Divinity. It's stuck.. I have divinity emails all over, my webpage (when I set the server back up finally) is http://divinity.relic.net, hehe and my girlfriend calls me Div everynow and then. I like the nick Divinity cause it conveys a strong sense of spirituality. I've also decided to expand it to use it as my DJ name when I spin parties and whatnot (that is if I find some time this summer to invest in more records and practice more) I also introduce myself as Divinity at raves when I'm really bored...
