Far more interesting, though, is that current polls give the Green Party's Ralph Nader 4% of the vote! If he tops 5% in 2000, that would make the Green Party eligible for national funds (if I understand the "system" aright), just like the two major parties and Ross Perot's cum Pat Buchanon's Reform Party. In fact, Buchanon's numbers are also at 4% right now, so it's possible that Nader could actually come in 3rd! Four years ago, and using only $5K of his own money (which comes out to less than a penny per vote!), Nader came in 4th, gathering something like 3/4 of a million votes. This year he seems to be far more aggressive, campaigning vigorously against corporate welfare. An interesting year, indeed! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 09:40:47 -0700 (PDT) From: mark alec Subject: YOUR Personal Data Online Creeps You Out? - --0-233665123-957458447=:26917 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline this is kinda scary.. ===== alec, the great http://www.geocities.com/--alec-- i'm lying still motionless i've lost my will hopelessness there's nothing left emptiness i cannot regain myself i cannot regain myself i cannot regain myself __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Well, none of them are getting the racist vote... while most racists will tend towards republican or even more to the right, they will still always vote for one of their own. In this case it would be Pat "Adolf" Buchanon There is something to be said for electing wrestlers though... we can have Speaker of the house Goldberg, President Hogan, and Stone Cold Senator Austin ------------------------------ End of angry-psychos-digest V5 #105 ***********************************
