I know that the team they had then was very different.. but this team is stronger in some ways. They have more people right now who have Stanley Cup experience than they did when they won in 96 (it was 96, by the way, 95 was the Devils :>) but they also have a lot of depth in their younger guys, which is something a lot of teams don't have. This could be why they get past detroit, if they do. Detroit has suffered from some *really* bad drafting and don't have any really good younger guys like say Hejduk and Drury. They scratched all their younger guys in the last game vs. Colorado. I don't think they had one guy with less than 3 years experience in their lineup. But anyway, colorado's older guys and the younger guys seem to have meshed very well. They have good chemistry, which resembles what they had in 96. The only difference is that now, they have more experience. Given, Claude Lemieux had just won the stanley cup the year before when the Avs won it in 96, but what seemed like half the team (that was acquired in the flyers deal) had none whatsoever. Their team hasn't changed all *that* much. And their current coach has a cooler temper, too... And about Ozolinsh, well, yes, he's a good SCORER. Unfortunately he lacks much defensive talent, which is not very good when..well.. you're a defenseman. He plays really, REALLY far up when colorado's attacking, and that allows for many defensive lapses. Breakaways for the other team, in particular. That's why Colorado's lead the league in shorthanded goals against for god knows how long. I'll give it to him, though, he is playing stronger defense than he was in his days with San Jose, and his earlier days in colorado. Whoa... I'll shut up now :x Go Bourque! Go Avs!
