I grew up in the 80's, so of course i also like Poison, Skid Row, Motley Crue and all the other hair bands. Plus just about everything in between. i can't stand country! also i just won the Poe "Rise & Shine" single from eBay, any comments on the cd? ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Sep 1999 17:53:55 EDT From: CrzyDimund@aol.com Subject: Re: npr "lotsa" music My music tastes range from Poe to STP to Pink Floyd (my all time fav) to Beck to Mazzy Star to Carole King and the Allman Brothers and Led Zeppelin....and even though the are top 40 teeny bopper icons, TLC is a very good band. Most of their songs have a really good message, but sadly it's usually one that 12 year olds don't get. TLC is the best untrendy trendy band on MTV there is at the moment. I'm not like a huge fan or anything - i just think they are pretty decent. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Sep 1999 18:02:05 EDT From: CrzyDimund@aol.com Subject: holy 80's! Okay so I'm sitting in English class and my professor sees me wearing my Rolling Stones shirt and was like "oh they were so popular in my day, it's nice to see good music make a come back." This got me thinking about how a lot of 70's and 60's stuff has made a really huge comeback with a strange 90's twist. The point is - what's gonna happen when our kids come to us in maybe 2010 and say "wow mom/dad, check out this gnarly white snake CD!" They will dress like Madonna (like a virgin time frame) and George Michael. Big hair will be "cool" and those totally bitchin day glo tights will be seen everywhere. Pretty Scary. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Sep 1999 16:22:48 PDT From: "Red Halcyon+On+On" Subject: Re: npr "lotsa" music not to burst ur bubble, but that's not terribly varied... save tlc, it's all rock/rock pop/alternative, which imo is narrow. flame me. >My music tastes range from Poe to STP to Pink Floyd (my all time fav) to >Beck >to Mazzy Star to Carole King and the Allman Brothers and Led >Zeppelin....and >even though the are top 40 teeny bopper icons, TLC is a very good band. >Most >of their songs have a really good message, but sadly it's usually one that >12 >year olds don't get. They're an incredible group with incredible messages, and its a total insult to refer to them as a top 40 teeny bopper icon just because they have a hit.. dont mean to be bitchy, I just had to work on a friday night and Im ill...
