Ok, I got some nasty replies. I have to ask myself how old some people here are. These are the letters that deserve replies (and one that doesn't, I just wanted people to see an example of the mentality I'm dealing with) I'm making only one reply to save time here. To reply to Ed. Horrible acting? I'd like you to find me one actor/actress that can get so worked up in a scene that she's crying her eyes out and has snot dripping down her nose.. I consider that acting... If you want to see acting rent the original 12 Angry Men, possibly Henry Fonda's greatest role. Or if you go to Blockbuster you can pick up a list of the 50 greatest screen legends. You'll find some of the true masters there. Jack, Just because something is new and original, does not mean it is good! Your letter was childish and shows the profile of someone without a clue. Come on, think for yourself. And, I DO APPRECIATE THE ARTS, however this movie is poor and no amount of open mindedness will change that. Allen, To say the least I hate Hollywood and large sums of money being used to cover for lack of talent. This does not change the fact that this movie sucks and it is just riding hype and the need of teens to not to conform to standards and their willingness to accept anything as gold that plays this tune. And finally, trust me I've seen more movies than most people (trust me on this one) from all different studios, time periods, and countries. Frankly it just gives me a better frame of reference, and shows me how poor Blair Witch is. Tim, Look at what you wrote to me... You must be one of those people that need will smith and billion dollar budgets to think a movie is good....since you show such dismay over real art instead of Hollywood funded mind control crap!! What are you, 12? I refuse to reply to this crap, think before you write next time. To all, Finally, don't give me this psychological thriller crap. My life is forensic psychology, I'm working on my masters right now. If anyone here is more qualified than me to talk about the darker side of psychology please e-mail me, I would like to talk to you. No sarcasm intended, only a genuine offer. Don't let a genre dictate your thoughts, Adam ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 09 Aug 1999 19:12:02 -0400 From: Ed Hunsinger Subject: NPR: Re: Blair Witch, to everyone. I agree with you on that.. but to say that a movie has horrible acting by comparing it to a great movie is like saying, the special effects in Blair Witch sucked, look at Star War's great special effects.. The reason I thought the acting was good was because I could sympathize with the actors.. In many a movie, you have the feeling that you are in fact sitting there watching a scripted out piece... Everything's just a little too perfect, and wellplanned.. I didn't get this feeling in the Blair Witch... That's why I consider it good acting.. good acting in my book is when the actors fool you to the point where you don't realize you're watching amovie anymore..
